  1. I said Price is clearly ahead of Sale and that Sale isn't even close at the moment. He's not out of it, but he'd need to lower his ERA quite a bit to have a chance, unfortunately Chicago's defense hurts him quite a bit.
  2. His ERA is about a run higher than Keuchel and Price, he's not even close at the moment.
  3. Yeah Price needs to finish really well and have Keuchel and Archer stumble a bit. He is clearly ahead of Kluber and Sale IMO. I believe there's only been 1 player to win the cy young award after a year where he was traded during the season. Does anybody know who?
  4. With a strong finish to the season, he might win the Cy Young.
  5. I'm doing quite well, I didn't post what I ended up choosing (luckily I didn't actually pick the Padres over) but it's worked well this year. Easy $$$.
  6. And incredibly boring. At least Tabler tells stories and makes some corny jokes with Buck.
  7. I like how he isn't a homer and is pretty lighthearted... Also whether people like to admit it or not he has an excellent TV friendly voice.
  8. Everything this guy says sounds predetermined and not genuine, I am not sure why you're buying into this garbage. Tabler is a lot more polished and easy to listen to and I am surprised the fanbase is buying into Siddall's snoozefest.
  9. Siddall mentioned multiple times it would have been 2-0 with most catchers when it was 0-2. It was an annoying comment how he went on about it. The guy just spews his predetermined s***, he can be knowledgeable but is not on the same level as Tabler IMO.
  10. Siddall needs to get off Martin's nuts. It's been a wide strikezone all night.
  11. 15 k's, 4.2 innings pitched lol
  12. Holy crap. Devastating slider!
  13. I read it quickly. Thanks for the article. It is evidence but remember he didn't use that many players so it should be taken with a grain of salt. Also Henderson, Ichiro, and Raines (hopefully) are hall of famers, and Lofton is maybe a borderline HOFer. That's a big part of the sample I'm not sure comparing Bourn, Crawford etc to those players is a good way to look at it. With Bourn if he stops running wild, which he did, he's not a very good player. I do agree he fell off way faster than expected though, of course.
  14. There's no chance he bites on a 1 year deal.
  15. Exactly. 29 other teams knew what Bourn's WAR was and had their own valuation of him. He either wasn't a fit or they realized exactly what you said, it was a bad contract the moment it got signed. Swisher's seemed ok, he's battled some injuries so there's still time for him to make a small comeback.
  16. Haha. This post looks awful now.
  17. How many teams get projected for better than 91 wins before the season starts? It's usually 1-2 I believe.
  18. It's Derek Holland not Yu Darvish.
  19. Eovaldi hitting 102 on his 88th pitch. Bases loaded though.
  20. That would be ok if he was the last and final piece and they upgraded in the outfield. Like RealAccountant said, they might not get a whole lot for 1 year of Edwin. You can remember 1 year of Jason Heyward got a young and talented, but struggling pitcher in Shelby Miller. So you'd have to think they wouldn't be able to get a good young player for Edwin which is what the board seems to want. Seattle might be a fit, but they're not going to get Taijuan Walker for example unless Zdurincik (SP?) is off his rocker.
  21. Right now I think Trout is still the favourite but it might come down to which team makes the playoffs. Let's say they are putting up equal offensive numbers, for argument's sake. Trout is regarded as a very good CF, and Donaldson is a very good 3B. So Trout will win if their hitting is similar and both teams make the playoffs, WAR isn't all that useful for this discussion.
