  1. Anyone notice all the Jays fans are on their phones? Enjoy the game FFS you're in Boston get a Budweiser.
  2. No they're not. The guy is basically in spring training, if he was really struggling it's more likely he's not quite ready for the bigs. Remember Cecil at the beginning of the season? Also I was talking about Ferguson who was actually there and didn't "stat scout his line".
  3. AA said that a long time ago. Things change. Ferguson was actually in attendance for Stroman's start, as were plenty of Jays' scouts. Who knows if they give him a few mop up innings to see where he's at.
  4. Scott Ferguson on TSN doesn't think Stroman is ready to return to the big leagues after today's start. I wonder if they use him out of the pen at least to begin with.
  5. He says simple things that work for a casual radio station. I do not find him entertaining but he seems to be well liked in Toronto and comes across as a genuinely nice guy.
  6. Thanks. That makes sense then. It's just a real shame if Harvey can't pitch in the playoffs, makes them a pretty weak team IMO.
  7. How likely is this? Sounds like Boras is being an idiot from what I can tell.
  8. Who's starting for the Orioles tomorrow? Anybody know?
  9. Quantitatively it takes longer to evaluate? I think it's pretty clear some guys are good fielders right when they come up, I'm sure you'd agree. So for example, I think Gose is a pretty good outfielder but fangraphs says otherwise for this season (as we saw evidently last weekend). If the statistics or actual results are pretty volatile, teams might be risk averse and offer lower contracts to good defenders. So not really a market inefficiency.
  10. He hasn't been very good but that's more from missing his spots way too much. The velocity is still there and his Slider and Splitter still seem sharp. Would be a great buy low in the offseason IMO
  11. K.......................
  12. Will they skip Buehrle? I think you want to use Price on 5 days rest once so he pitches September 21st vs NYY, if I am correct.
  13. Any word on if the Jays are skipping Hutchison? I'm going to the game Saturday and would rather see Price pitch.
  14. He seems to be pretty reliable regardless. Normally Estrada has really good control and has a very good changeup to help keep guys off balance. At this point I think you consider him as a starter in the playoffs. He's less prone to blowing up than the other options.
  15. He is either a bad troll or someone who needs to get some help. Let's hope the former.
  16. Ok I like Zaun and all but does he really have to use Smoak's 1 for 9 career bases loaded as a reason to walk Tulo? Come on dude.
  17. Gomes/Kipnis 6 years (according to Jeff Blair, I didn't check).
  18. Poor moves: how about giving Hafner an extension into his 30s? I remember that being an awful signing.
