  1. At this rate he’ll have 50 saves by the all star break
  2. If only Tapia and Zimmer could morph into a single individual, together they’d actually be a competent bench piece
  3. This teams' collective swing decisions are very hard to watch right now
  4. And those 2 hitters is why they really think he's got upside... Slight problem with his pitches though... his change is like 89-90mph and doesnt have enough separation from the fastball or cutter velo. Almost every pitch he throws is within 5 mph of each other.
  5. Zero fastball command also a problem right now, keeps leaving it up and away arm side. Something mechanically wrong right now that he needs to fix asap
  6. His cutter is getting murdered tonight, he needs to find something else to throw
  7. He means the appeal panel I think
  8. Tom Brady nearly went to the Supreme Court with his suspension.
  9. Fight me ya uphill gardening troglodytic bike!
  10. Straight from the MLB policy, he can only be suspended for something that falls under: Domestic violence: is a pattern of abusive behavior in any intimate relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner. It occurs in heterosexual and same sex relationships and impacts individuals from all economic, educational, cultural, age, gender, racial, and religious demographics. Domestic violence includes, but is not limited to, physical or sexual violence, emotional and/or psychological intimidation, verbal violence, stalking, economic control, harassment, physical intimidation, or injury. Notwithstanding this definition, a single incident of abusive behavior in any intimate relationship, or a single incident of abusive behavior involving a female member of a Player’s family who is domiciled with him, may subject a Player to discipline under this Policy. Sexual assault: refers to a range of behaviors, including a completed nonconsensual sex act, an attempted nonconsensual sex act, and/or nonconsensual sexual contact. Lack of consent is inferred when a person uses force, harassment, threat of force, threat of adverse personnel or disciplinary action, or other coercion, or when the victim is asleep, incapacitated, unconscious or legally incapable of consent. Child abuse: is any act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation of a child who is under the age of 18 or not an emancipated minor, or any act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of such harm to such a child. This policy covers acts of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault (together, “Covered Act”) as defined above. Obviosuly cannot be under child abuse, so he's clearly being suspended under an interpretation of either the 1st or 2nd definition
  11. Speaking on behalf of they everywhere, we're fine with it.
  12. Fat is not a recognized injury.... yet!
  13. Yeah, like I said I cant really recall if you were on that episode or not. It's okay to joke as long as it's not coming from a place of malice. Or if you make fun of alopecia apparantly
  14. When Biggio is off Covid protocol, they would need to open a spot on the 40 man roster for him, either by DFA or transferring someone to the 60 day DL. Can't get around that. They could DFA Biggio also, but that's not happening any time soon. Chances are, if nobody is going to the 60 day DL, then someone gets punted via DFA. Likely candidates being Heineman, Zimmer or Capra depending on the status of other injured Jays
  15. Settle bro, we made Nazi jokes on our podcast (pretty sure you were there on that episode, if not, i apologize) so ... joking is just joking. Nobody is advocating her death.
  16. K, so they suspended Sam Dyson for the full 2021 season without any charges filed against him. So i guess they feel this is worse than what he did.
  17. It's because when COVID was running wild, teams could have 5+ players on COVID protocol at one time, having to DFA 20% of your roster to keep up with that would be non-sensical.
  18. Also, quick question. Can he play while appealing his suspension? or does his admin leave continue? Seems like you cant be on admin leave and suspension at the same time, and players have always been allowed to play while appealing suspensions in the past.
  19. All labour relations is very broad statement. how could they possibly use every suspension from every union for comparison? Seems like using major sports union suspensions would be the more appropriate comparisons. And for domestic abuse precedent, there's no better place to look than the NFL. Half a season is the current precedent and that's with criminal charges filed and video evidence of the crime, so how this gets 2 full seasons is kinda hard to see
  20. I dont see how he could. MLB and the PA has made nearly 0 public statements about this whole thing other than the usual "we are proceding with our investigation...respecting the process..."
  21. Just like Sheryl... Sorry, couldnt pass it up.
  22. I wonder how quick the appeal hearing will be. Granted I know very little of the details of the investigation (ditto for the rest of us), but how does the length of this suspension fit any precedent from prior suspensions for violations of the policy? This seems like a slam dunk reduction on appeal.
