  1. wRC+ Is a great tool to use when the average player skill stays relatively the same from year to year. If the talent pool gets diluted heavily, the average skill level goes down, making wRC+ a less important measure.
  2. Would still be nice having another solid lefty option.
  3. True, but that’s like saying he smells slightly better than 2 piles of s***.
  4. Yes, absolutely the two go hand in hand.
  5. Interesting targets that are probably very gettable... Benintendi (pure rental, FA after 2022) - LH bat, can play a s***** outfield just like Tapia, except he isn't an embarassment with the bat. Would allow a true DH rotation that doesnt suck the soul out of the batting lineup. Won't be expensive to acquire either. Bednar (1 more year at League min - then 3 years of Arb left) - Lefty strikeout machine. Tons of control left. No reason not to be ringing Pittsburgh every day to talk trade. Don't wait. DO IT. Montas (1 year of arb left, FA ater 2023) - because you know Ryu is likely gone for this year and half of next, (I am assuming TJ is coming soon). All three help this year, and 2 of them help beyond this year. No way they could get all 3 of course, but i think 2 of the 3 would be doable.
  6. This FO deserves a ton of credit for finding hidden gems too in later rounds and low cost IFAs. They're not just drafting the big bonus babies and waiting for them to be ready.
  7. Not sure Id want the rook catching Berrios and his crazy ass arsenal. Probably better to keep him with Gausman - if that is indeed the plan.
  8. True. But 100% of tall fat guys have bad knees by 30. The short gives him a 5% buffer
  9. Honestly, I thought it would be lower.
  10. Interesting. If he’s going to get regular PAs, I’m on board. If he’s going to sit around and just get some random innings and PAs here and there…I don’t see the point.
  11. Don't forget the 5.2 BB/9, that's kinda important too, as is the 5.7 hits per 9. Kinda weird that the guy walks as many guys at get hits off him. Obviously has filthy stuff but the command is clearly an issue.
  12. Top2 division winners get a buy into the second round. Division winner with the third best record plays The WC card team with the worst record, the other two WC teams play each other. Winners advance to play the top 2 division winners
  13. Hold the phone, might get a lucky break if Tapia is injured.
  14. Excellent take after swinging at the exact same pitch for strike 2
  15. Terrible move by the KC manager. A free swinger like Bo is exactly who this guy should face.
  16. It’s truly unfortunate for Espinal that most of his value is defense related, he’s gonna get screwed in voting for pretty much everything, and make way less money than he should.
  17. Yeah, but xba isn’t a perfect measure either. If Isabel hit the exact same ball in the last inning about 2/3rds as hard, it would likely have fell in for a hit too, doesn’t mean it not a lucky hit. Any ball off the bat at 78 mph that falls in for a hit is a pretty fortunate outcome.
  18. Oh for sure, just saying those two hits are the perfect example of how KC lucksacked their way to success in 2015.
  19. I love how Tabler is jizzing over these last 2 hits, both barely on the bat that dinked just over the SS. Those are lucky results, not an example of good hitting.
  20. I agree 100%. With catcher's you wait until there's nothing left to learn at AAA, injuries take everyone else out and he's your last option, or it's September and he's just up as a 3rd catcher to get a few PAs and maybe catch a few innings at the end of a blowout.
