  1. There’s something you don’t see everyday
  2. Bad example with Burnett, even at the height of his non-injured-all-the-time years from 2008-2014 he surpassed 200 innings 4 times, and his highest 221. From 2006-2011 Halladays lowest total was 220.
  3. 200 points - Tellez
  4. I wonder what the actual follow up process is for these guys. Like I know we'll never see it or really even hear about it, but there has to be some kind of mechanism that would require someone to go over a game like this with the ump after the fact and point out how very clearly wrong he was on 35% of his called strikes in an effort to have him clearly see where his blind spots were so he could potentially improve going forward. But then again, Angel Hernandez. So obviously there is no mechanism. Ah well, most of their ball strike decisions will be replaced soon enough
  5. Every day when I take a piss.
  6. I don't think it will go up significantly though. 7 years at 30.5 per year starting in 2023 is probably still going to be about what he ends up getting. Maybe some team adds an option year, maybe some team tries to go shorter term for higher AAV... but I really dont see a lot of front offices lining up to pay that guy past the age of 38 at a significantly higher AAV than 30.5
  7. Suspension isnt for the words, its for the contact. Hope he said it was a cocksucking strike zone and the entire conversation went exactly as it did in Bull Durham.
  8. I definitely do not understand the appeal of someone wanting to look like that.
  9. And because now everyone is curious...
  10. Should check out recent pics of former pitcher and now bodybuilder Kyle Farnsworth. It’s beyond experimental for him, looks like he used every steroid on Earth
  11. I think it’s too much also, but like I said, you know that’s what they’d ask for.
  12. Catcher was halfway through throwing it back to the pitcher because he knew it was a ball…lol
  13. My guess would be something like Orelvis + Tiedemann is what they would ask for, and the Jays would probably not want to do that. Groshans + Robberse + another?
  14. I suppose that would be better than listening to 2 homeless guys argue about squirrels. But like... barely.
  15. Well there's your first mistake.
  16. We got J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon, and David Carpenter from the Astros for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, Joe Musgrove, Carlos Perez, David Rollins, Asher Wojciechowski and Kevin Comer.
  17. Simply put, it's virtually impossible to compare players form today to players from 100 years ago. The game, while played under generally the same rules, is completely different. It's not ever really that arguable that todays players are far more highly skilled than players from 100 years ago, in any sport. if time travel was possible and you put Ohtani in 1920 to play baseball (and also made him white) he would hit a HR in probably 75% of his PAs. The velocity they threw back then would be like BP. Same as if you plucked Babe out of 1920 and magically transferred him to 2020, he would strike out so much it would be ridiculous. Then the argument inevitably turns into even more hyptheticals and ends up being a pointless exercise. That doesn't diminish his accomplishments in his own era. Hes still arguably the greatest player of all time. But direct comparing the two is, for the most part, pointless. And lets also not forget that there are near 0 people alive today that have seen both eras and how drastically the game has changed.
  18. Pen management is such a crapshoot when you have the arms the Jays have... they have 1 high end guy (im not gonna call him elite yet, but hes on the high end of the level below elite imo) maybe 3 debateably above average guys (Cimber, Mayza and Garcia) 50 feet of crap, and then the rest of them. I think what you're getting at mostly is that rather than automatically pulling a guy when he's dealing out the pen, run him out again until he gets into trouble. Well, lots can go wrong with that too. At the end of the day, Charlie can only put a guy on the mound, it's up to the pitcher to get the job done. Some days it's hard to get the exact guy you want out there because of 100 different reasons and you have to go the someone that maybe isn't the perfect choice. Also, if a guy is cruising, maybe you still want to take him out at the end of the inning so he's available the next day if needed. Can't always just let guys go until they let a guy on base. all of this is not to excuse Montoyo at all either, just saying that with the lack of swing and miss in the pen in general, some days are just gonna suck.
  19. If there’s a catcher on the block, it’s probably not Kirk. Can never say for sure, but…taking advantage of his young fat years when it won’t be as big of a problem and then either trading him when he’s 28 or 29 before he rolls into free agency would be fine.
  20. Puff puff pass. You need to pass the weed, not smoke it all yourself
  21. Great way to get this done. Send out the hitting coach, whos pretty much useless on the bench during the game anyways, call him a ********** and call it a day.
  22. Tapia is the anti-Espinal ..... Espy hitting like crap, still amazing D and contributing well into the positive for wins. Tapia, hits well for a month, still plays garbage D and still below replacement level. Cut bait with this clown already. I'd rather run Zimmer out there 100% of the time Tapia is being played right now.
  23. almost 6 runs of impact... absolute abomination
  24. Debatable. Giving away 33% of your remaining outs for a very marginal increase in run expectancy does not generally make sense.
