  1. I have a bevy of SP available. Sonny Gray, Yonny Chirinos, Tyler Skaggs, Stro Show Prospects please. Maybe your injured players too Make me an offer if you're interested in any of these guys. If you ask me what I'm looking for you aren't getting a reply
  2. Doesn’t seem like a guy who would be owned still, I understand
  3. I’ve brought this up before. I like the idea of just making MiLB rosters unlimited during the season. You have to cut down to 12 before the waiver draft. Might give owners who are out of it more incentive to trade for prospects when they know they don’t have to make a decision who to cut right away.
  4. Absolutely it is. Stroman embraces his teammates and has their back. I don’t care if his abrasive attitude rubs people the wrong way, at least he can walk the walk. Sanchez is complete garbage, it amazes me that people still think this guy is a big league starter.
  5. Good to see Olerud is in mid season form
  6. Why do you say dumb s*** all the time? What's the point of proclaiming that everyone says he's good again on BJMB and when asked who is saying that linking to dummies on reddit? You do realize that's pretty dumb right?
  7. Once again it's highly unlikely managing Vlad's workload involves pulling him in the ninth inning
  8. Every time Fangraphs asks me to donate to their page I chuckle a little inside and think f*** you, you employ Sherill Ring.
  9. Seems highly unlikely part of Vlad's maintenance program is removing him in the ninth inning. I think Charlie thought I have this black guy who plays second sitting on the bench so he must be fast, way faster than this fat 20 year old on first. This is the right move.
  10. Okay you made some good points earlier but now you're just giving off the feeling that you're butt hurt Jim doesn't agree with you.
  11. I agree with all of this. Leave the guy in the ball game, most people paid to come see him and not watch Alen Hansen pinch run in a tie game in April.
  12. Is P2F alive? I hope everything is okay, not like him to be dragging on a Monday
  13. LOL @ "The Counselor"
  14. I do too, because there are a few variables at play that I mentioned earlier too that are hard to quantify, but generally follow suit: You're more likely to use your better relievers with the lead The other team is more likely to use their lower leverage guys when trailing If applicable, your better defenders enter the game Less pressure on your own D, more pressure on the other team to produce I'll leave it to the sabr nerds to answer, but its an interesting topic nonetheless.
  15. Good call yes he has been. Getting a good RP out of the Pillar deal would be nice
  16. Agreed. He's destroyed AAA through 20 games and has slashed his K's significantly, looking like less of a hacker from a statistical profile anyways. Hansen is just cannon fodder, let's get the kids up here and let them play!
  17. I'm not of the never sacrifice crowd so I don't really care about them sacrificing more than in recent past. There is obviously a method to the madness, more so than the casual observer knows. It sounds as if there is a synergy from the top down, so these decisions aren't split second decisions made by Montoyo. Atkins talked about how everyone was involved with the decision making process to hit Vlad fifth in his debut, so I'm sure they have had many discussions on small ball so to speak. Like jmomcc was talking about, there has to be times where increasing the probability of scoring a single run is preferable to maximizing run expectancy (and not just tie game bottom nine). Playing with a lead is always better than holding out hope for a three run shot. Now pinch running for Vlad, that's another story. I think that's a reach from Montoyo.
  18. It’s not directed towards you. It’s directed towards the majority of the board
  19. Absolutely there is. I have no idea what the numbers are either but there are definitely scenarios where this applies. When you have the lead you tend to use better relievers You tend to hit off of worse relievers I’m sure there are a dozen other reasons why increasing probability of scoring one run outweighs maximizing run expectancy All the Rays fan boys should be cheering watching Montoyo manage the way he is, it’s the Rays way
  20. Stroman has the most service time out of any of them. You’re buying 3-4 FA years from him so the number is going to be higher. My hypothetical 5/70 gives him an AAV of 14M which I wouldn’t want to go much higher on. I agree with those who said if he doesn’t want to sign an extension obviously trade him. But the way the market is right now I’d have to think he would be motivated to get guaranteed money
  21. As opposed to you or what? Lol Let’s listen to the guy with a 67 mph heater who can’t get the ball out of the infield off a tee about baseball then too.
  22. #LetTheKidsPlay Except Stroman. f*** that guy. Conform or gtfo
  23. Wait too long and Stro Show is gonna want to taste free agency. They should be working on hard locking him up before he looks like an actual breakout and not just a stretch of 5 good starts. Stroman is the kind of guy this board would be salivating over if he was on another team. Great ground ball rates, durability, seemingly untapped K potential. He’s the next logical extension candidate in my eyes.
  24. I agree with you. The idea that everyone must be shipped off in order to continue the rebuild is exhausting. Stroman isn’t going to cost a ton, has expressed a desire to stay and is pretty low risk as far as pitchers go. I’d try and extend him for 5 years, buying the last year of arb and four FA years. I don’t think he would sign without the fourth year but who knows. That’ll make him a FA again at 33. Front load it a bit while the cash on the books is low. 2020- 14M 2021- 16M 2022- 16M 2023- 12M 2024- 12M 5/70M
