  1. thehurl looks exactly like h3h3 btw http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/h3h3/images/9/97/11253622_1585386011717755_2007935723_n.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151111081039
  2. A union four years in the making! http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/Toronto_Blue_Jays/General/Jays_to_acquire_Gavin_Floyd_Twitter_rumor_pt_2/ml-bluejays/78802.1?redirCnt=1&nav=messages
  3. There was just an instantaneous mutual understanding that your relationship never needs to ascend to the point of verbal contact.
  4. More to the point, I bet ST games would draw more viewers than whatever else they plan to have on at 1pm most days in March.
  5. He's not going to the highest bidder no matter what, lol. He probably wants to win a WS more than maximize his money. The allure of competing for a WS in a lineup with Donaldson, Tulo, Martin, and Edwin for the next few years will be intense. Maybe if the highest bidder happens to be the Dodgers or Mets or some other very strong contender then he'll go there.
  6. Alex Gordon is just as good (or better), significantly younger, and he just got 4/$72.
  7. I still think Jose and Edwin sign nearly identical companion extensions at the same time.
  8. So he's getting significantly more than a stupid contract that turned out horribly for the team? I could see him asking for the V.Mart deal. That would be fair.
  9. I feel like that would be an unprecedented contract for someone entering their age 36 season
  10. what did you trade Stanton for again?
  11. The fact that Jose is so old, but still so good, works heavily in the Blue Jays' favour. They should be able to get him extended on a reasonable 3 or 4 year deal, and he should end up being worth it. There's really no reason to expect him to demand some ludicrous contract. Beltran was good at 36 and signed for 3/$45. Zobrist was good at 35 and signed for 4/$56. If Jose doesn't retire as a Blue Jay then either his camp has insane contract demands or Toronto is f***ing stupid.
  12. (placeholder player until he gets added)
  13. Yeah there's no official signing yet so he won't be eligible. His situation could fall under the following sentence from the MLB Roster Management portion of the rules: "International free agents that are not subject to international spending restrictions and sign during the season are eligible to be claimed as soon as Yahoo adds them to the system. International free agents that were subject to international spending restrictions but are added to Yahoo's system during the season will be treated like prospects who did not his AA in the previous season - that is, they cannot be added unless they are called up to the big leagues."
  14. I wonder if the hops will be noticeably different between the turf and dirt. Buck Showalter will probably complain about it a bunch regardless
  15. It's not like baseball would have died instantly when PR was swallowed by the draft. The culture has slowly declined. It would have taken a generation to happen, because you'd need a new crop of youngsters who, when faced with the new system, either fail or decide to do other things. Most of the guys on your list here were teenagers when the rules were changed, so they were already invested in the baseball route to whatever extent.
  16. naming a dynasty team after Taylor Jungmann seems like a great idea!
