  1. It would have been a great haul, 100% on the basis of Fernandez. The other three are worthless IMO.
  2. I'm actually a silent co-manager, so there
  3. Where does the bat speed come from? The whip he creates with his mechanics. People don't "have" bat speed innately. They create it with physics (and maybe some muscles, I dunno how it works, I'm just an internet poser). In almost every high level swing there is a point where the hips are initiated, the front arm is essentially locked, and the bat is still behind the hitter. I call this the NJH position, or the power V.
  4. I think it was mostly just the .344 ISO and the godly production (his wRC+ was over 200 at some stops).
  5. LMAO @ "arm bar". It's like these people actually have no idea about the mechanics that go into a high level swing. http://i.imgur.com/4DJ6Vgk.gif I guess Donaldson needs a swing makeover. I think when you see a player "arm bar", it's an almost necessary component of a high level power swing. Like keeping your left arm straight in golf. If I was a physicist I could probably explain something about leverage or torque or whatever. So when a scouting report knocks someone for having an "arm bar", give that player a + in your books. Unless they are a speed/contact type of player, that probably means that they have a good swing.
  6. just a humble spectator, glad he isn't in this league because it seems annoying af
  7. how was he still on the board lol
  8. Just the fact that he's 2 years away from being 2 years away from being 2 years away
  9. I actually just asked nox who to draft for the first five rounds of this thing
  10. I think this bad draft was a blessing in disguise for me. If I hit on a bunch of dudes I might have become a completely different owner, perhaps one who *shudders* overvalues prospects. Instead, I hate them and treat them like pocket change.
  11. I don't think he ever says "of muscle". Probably just ate a lot We should expect big things
  12. co-managers are a plague on the bjmb leagues if you can't wipe yer own arse, move back home with mum
  13. this is an easy choice if you don't have your head in the sand wow
  14. Seems like a great way to ruin clubhouse chemistry, signing a guy to essentially replace somebody that will still be here for another year. But Bautista gains +1 attack when he's enraged so there's that
  15. Well all you guys are ignoring the other cool threads...
  16. Yeah that definitely happened. It was the best rookie class, like, ever.
  17. We are heading into DDL year 4 and I believe jaysblue and I just worked out our first trade, lol. Guy never budges!
  18. There are either some really bad picks happening or this is an extremely weak draft
  19. Newcomb is very attractive, even if he's risky. The Atlanta Braves agree.
  20. They are, of course, stuck with Verlander, Cabrera, and V.Mart for better or worse. Upton should be tradeable for the majority of his deal. Zimmerman might also be if he can stay healthy. Kinsler and Sanchez are off the books soon enough, so not a big long term deal. Same can sort of be said for Martinez, it's just semi-short term sunk owner money. They'll really have to be proactive and bail the boat aggressively once it starts to sink. This will mean getting whatever they can in exchange for whichever of those contracts they can move. I too would tie myself to Miguel Cabrera for life, but the Verlander contract really sucks.
  21. because only idiots look at splits for one season are you an idiot?
