  1. BTS what should I do with all of these thanks?
  2. But he doesn't just need marginal improvements in command and pitchability to be a good SP, he needs very large command improvements and very significant improvements to his offspeed repertoire. What he needs lies somewhere in between expected growth and a quantum leap forward, but it's probably closer to the latter. Disagreement and discussion on the exact level of improvement needed, and the appropriate wording with which to describe said improvement, is futile. See my above post about foam fingers up butts and feel free to apply it to yourself thusly.
  3. Or you could just, you know, look at his entire minor league track record and watch him pitch at any point before 2016 and realize that he's a one trick relief pony. Pull the foam finger out of your ass and at least try not to be a homer, ok?
  4. 3.1 IP 4 H 3 K 5 BB 5 ER 1 TJS 100% GB rate fap fap fap
  5. Yeah, remembering your consistent offseason attitude about Saunders sure was difficult
  6. Yes. I hope that he has a massive and completely unexpected skill change, which nobody had any rational reason to expect, and turns into a good starter. I sincerely hope that this happens.
  7. "I'm not expecting anything from Saunders. This team has massive issues in LF." - BTS all offseason "If Saunders keeps hitting, he should be leading off in a matter of weeks" - BTS after day 2 of the season
  8. I just found an all-time Brey Sayre line. From the Red Sox 2014 top 10 list re: Mookie Betts. Bret Sayre’s Fantasy Take: The stat line is sexy, and his fantasy potential is only a slightly lesser version of said sexiness. The average/speed combination is attractive at such a shallow position and when you add potential 10-homer pop, there’s Jean Segura-lite potential here. Had to share here for Boxy
  9. Yeah I suppose. Although I wasn't really considering any of the guys taken in the 11th/12th rounds because the team generally punted several prior picks with the express intent of signing the players that they picked there. But yeah.
  10. Pretty much this. IIRC the only kind of hail mary picks the Blue Jays actually landed were Tellez and Reggie Pruitt. I guess you could say that it worked out in general? Between 2010 and 2015 they probably took something like 10-15 "hail mary picks" and they ended up landing two of them (unless I'm missing someone). They also altered their draft strategy every single year in order to make the chances of landing one or two tough sign guys higher (taking cheap as s*** college dudes in rounds 5-9 every draft). I wonder if they would have been better off just going with a conventional draft. Take ~5 standard picks based on talent in rounds 5-9 and skip some of the tough sign high school players.
  11. Basically any transaction during the season warrants it's own thread. Could have a miscellaneous Jays news thread for the smaller things.
  12. I'll say 4
  13. Sanchez and Odorizzi both out of the game by the 4th
  14. I didn't see Chavez's entire inning but from what I saw his command looked sublime
  15. Oh man he was dogshit in 2011/2012. Above average SP in 2010 though!
  16. this is a good post I'm more worried about the wall tbh
  17. KP was so close to literally breaking his neck on that play. lmao
  18. Kevin Pillar, leadoff hitter will last maybe ten more days?
  19. Colabello, pumpkin
  20. Hopefully the eventual RC renovations make it more difficult. Just make that wall a bit taller or change the orientation of the seats or something. It doesn't seem to be such a common problem in most other stadium constructions.
  21. Disagree, it's stupid and slows the game down. RC fans are already among the most retarded in the league. Need to nip throwing anything on the field in the bud.
  22. I'm guessing one of two things: 1) They might have been there to give him the boot for interference if it was called a double 2) They might have been telling people not to heckle him
  23. no, they judged that the ball was gone anyway. Why would they kick him out?
  24. omg I am so happy for Josh Thole
