Report: Blue Jays have looked into Moss. Two years ago now ex-President Paul Beeston promised real grass to the fans of Toronto's indoor baseball team. Research at the University of Guelph has hit a dead-end on the grass front, and team officials recently looked into Moss as a potential real organic baseball surface. "I'm not really sure whose idea it was," said team GM Ross Atkins, "but it was pretty stupid. Who wants to play on moss? It's almost certainly not a viable solution." It's pretty bad tbh They slightly overpaid a mediocre DH and then watched a vastly superior one with sentimental ties get underpaid by like 30% of his predicted cost Tough pill. Steve Pearce is better than Morales though so that helps soften the blow

Have to regret it a bit. Edwin @ 3/57 or whatever is so much better than Morales @ 3/33 But you can't fault them. It was reasonable to expect EE to get a $100M deal. I don't blame them for pouncing on some targets early in free agency. Clearly their internal analytics loves Morales.

Hard to imagine Toronto not signing ONE of JB or EE. They seem to have no suitors at all and Toronto has relevant holes. Fill our holes, Shapiro!
