  1. Who is expecting him to be flipped? I think it's obvious that they will try to trade him for profit at the trade deadline. That's different though.
  2. He was traded like two days ago
  3. Other free agents Luis Valbuena - just plop him in LF or something. Trevor Plouffe - see above. Austin Jackson Desmond Jennings? Gregor Blanco Alejandro De Aza Josh Hamilton - ???? is this guy retiring or what? Angel Pagan Chris Coghlan Trade Jarrod Dyson -- seemed like a great target until Adam Eaton got traded for that huge package. It seems like baseball values these defense first guys appropriately which is unfortunate to this end. David Peralta Seth Smith Billy Hamilton JD Martinez -- why does nobody in Blue Jay land talk about this guy? Random realistic trade targets... Brandon Drury (probably not available) Socrates Brito Tommy Pham Tony Kemp Jake Smolinski Mark Zagunis Scott Van Slyke Derek Dietrich Travis Jankowski (maybe a stretch) Scott Schebler Billy Burns Eddie Rosario (maybe a stretch) A lot of these names are bottom of the barrel. But I think most of them have some angle that is interesting. At this point I kind of just expect Toronto to add a couple of warm bodies and not much more. But we'll see. If they do so little as to just sign a guy like Valbuena (plop Pearce in LF) then I would be ecstatic.
  4. It's not THAT complicated. I have a mental process for it but I'm sure Cyborg or North know how to do it with real math. Analogy from school - your grade in a class changes by the percentage the new mark is worth * the difference between the new mark and current mark. If you have a 70 and you get 100% on something worth 10%, your grade goes up 3%. If you have a 70 and you get 79% on something worth 1/3 of your final grade, your grade goes up by.... 3%. Now consider your incumbent mark to be the league average pitching ratio. Consider the new mark to be the specific player's ratio. Consider the percentage the mark is worth to be the innings / week that they give your team. It's difference from league average * proportional contribution to your weekly innings. So the calculus changes based on roster construction. If you own more or less SP or RP it changes the thought process. One elite RP doesn't do as much for a team with 10 starters chugging innings. One league average-ish SP heavily sandbags a team that relies on strong relief ratios.
  5. Yahoo's calculations must be wrong, disproportionately weighing ratios. Either that or we're all idiots
  6. If Porcello were in the NL he'd arguably project as a K/BB league fantasy Ace. Porcello got really good after years of frustrating mediocrity. I wouldn't sleep on Porcello just because he cost you 500 bucks before. Hendricks has been a stud his entire pro career though.
  7. Kyle Hendricks deserves no criticism. He's a K/BB league Ace or strong SP2 absolutely, forever. Safer than anything. The ENTIRE trade hinges on Puig the great enigma.
  8. That would be a dumb bet. I was thinking The King vs. The Professor
  9. Do we need to do another bet? Lmao
  10. This thread is SILLY now.
  11. Hard to say what I would have done. I would have thought about it for a day and then maybe done it. I think in all likelihood I would have counter-countered by trying to swap Hendricks out for, say, Sean Manaea. Or at the very least tried to keep Paddack if I was giving up Kopech. But there were A LOT of different deals I was willing to do with different combinations of arms, as I told you. Everyone was in play. (For interested readers, the first offer contained both Arrieta and Kopech).
  12. k 450 pro PA in 2017 for action $20 if the gap is >20 points we triple that to $60!!!
  13. This would be relevant if we were trying to figure out who was better at getting extra base hits in the past.
  14. Correa is five months younger! I think Correa has slightly higher ceiling just based on tools. Better Speed and Raw.
  15. They project for basically the same line (.020 OPS points better than Aledmys Diaz). It's a coin flip. I feel like Correa has a bigger ceiling.
  16. tbh I was just doing some B- trolling in your PMs and then surprise you accepted
  17. I knew you'd be on my side with force
  18. love Shane Greene
  19. lol @ brownies The greenie incident may have fundamentally changed you as a poster tbh.
  20. Wanted to make Correa my new avatar to replace Laika but goddamn he is ugly. If someone told me he was a burn victim I would probably believe them.
  21. I tried to search function for this but couldn't find it. Wish I kept a trolling journal.
  22. Always b trolling? true.
