    Yeah, theoretically. Give the guy some gumption and a Driveline offseason and it would be interesting to see what happens. I mean it could also be injury or mechanical decline, which can't really be fixed. IIRC he did deal with some injury scares with the Reds at one point.

    Well the restriction was on $$ to any individual player. They probably decided to simply redistribute a lot of the fund to a truckload of penny stock players.

    Looks like he pitched effectively for the rest of the year after a 45 pitch relief outing (with a ton of off days surrounding it). 40 pitches is rare but it's not unseen. Betances threw 40 pitches against Toronto last year, in September, in the second game of back-to-back appearances. Meh. Most teams ask their depth relievers to wear the odd game. I bet Bo Schultz has had a few 40+ pitch Blue Jays outings.

    zero? pretty sure the Blue Jays can't sign anyone for over $300k until July 2nd. He's been heavily linked to other teams, anyway, and usually when that happens in the international rumour market the rumours are true.

    No, it's basically graded plus ever since he entered pro ball and people got consistent looks at him. Back when he signed it wasn't considered a strength.

    It's because they wanted to give him a light spring. He's thrown less innings than the others, he's a bit behind them. That's basically it.

    Andy McCullough @McCulloughTimes This is tough to watch. Scott Kazmir's fastball hasn't cracked 86 mph, and throwing strikes hasn't been easy either. Three walks so far.

    I assumed lefties were chewing him up down there, but he looked fine against them today. He didn't strike out an exorbitant amount in the SEC, but he also wasn't a high contact player (a bit under a strikeout per game while leading the SEC in homers). Who knows. A full season this year will show us all we need to know, likely. The obvious comparison is Michael Saunders. Maybe with slightly more boring tools than the youthful version of Saunders.

    Woodman just made a really nice catch in CF - good jump, speed, instincts on a sinking liner. I don't know much about him but he seems like a solid all around player.

    Prospect looks today: Josh Palacios and JB Woodman starting for Toronto. Chance Sisco and Trey Mancicni starting for Baltimore. Woodman looked really good singling off fringe LHP MLB SP and former Blue Jay org member Jayson Aquino. Chance Sisco looked a bit better throwing him out trying to steal.

    Yeah, the contract is fine but I don't really think Texas should have prioritized it. Could swing bad like Andrus. Odor (apparently) is a s*** defender, and we know he's absolutely a hacker extraordinaire -- sharp decline / bad volatile year potential. Sick Aaron Dell add yesterday by the way bro
