  1. I just realized your numbers say "22.35 cases per capita" per capita means per person whoever wrote out those numbers is confirmed special
  2. I don't know where you are getting these numbers but they are probably ********, and even if true they probably do not control for refusal or reticence in getting tested, or behavioural changes. I too can google stats to support my case good thing common sense also supports me obligatory line about baseball so i don't break my own rules - players who don't get vaccines probably have a higher chance of getting covid blah blah aaron judge blah blah greg birb
  3. Tigers dumb
  4. As much as I hate to even say it, someone unvaccinated = higher risk of getting Covid = higher risk of missing time due to Covid
  5. Castro and Thornton are the same for me. Bad pitchers with kind of okay stuff.
  6. Well these guys are old and declining. I kind of do think he has a better path to playing time in New York. I could see multiple Yankees having season ending injuries because they are large and old. Not the case in Toronto, although of course there is injury risk always.
  7. the physical trajectory of some players is so odd austin meadows came up as a five tool prospect now he's 27 and is a statue; almost a DH, with negative baserunning
  8. uhhhhh wow okay
  9. yeah that's why it's a good bet IMO you get 2:1 on a coinflip or something close to one he could even have a normal DL stint and still pop 30 like steamer projects 30 in 150 games
  10. It's almost a coinflip on health as far as I see it. 100% health and I would be shocked if he doesn't hit 30
  11. Bichette 30 HR for 2:1 looks juicy
  12. Yeah but EVEN IF there were MiLB stats and he played a lot and hit well, it becomes less relevant over time as he shows he can't translate that to the majors and he is older vs. the average age of AAA. But the most compelling anti-Collins argument is the basic observation that he had a 90 wRC+ in 2021 and was a dumpster fire in terms of WAR and he projects for the same offensive production. So you can't really expect more offense. You can hope for it but you can't expect it. The most you can reasonably expect is noise in the previous defensive numbers. You pray to the god of stats that he can actually defend and then you pray to Jesus Christ that he learns how to make more contact (or just hit more homers, like Mike Zunino). Or you just pray to Shatkins that he is not long for the roster.
  13. I think there is a chance that Katoh is actually just a productive major league bench player. Little bit of power, speed, and defensive utility. Minor league numbers are interesting enough last two seasons. I see the light.
  14. the projection system was named after him, literally him
  15. anyone can be a CF if you just put them in CF
  16. he was here all along, right in front of our faces the lefty IF/OF we needed for the bench lmao
  17. 1. invalid, too long ago 2. sure 3. less valid - those become irrelevant over time 4. too passive 5. any reference to Pat Tabler = downgrade
  18. I dunno man, 3 man bench with expanded April rosters just seems weird.
  19. he's fine?
  20. The future of CF is George Springer
  21. It's a tough archetype to find especially right now. In house, Biggio could do that role... if say Jose Ramirez took his job
  22. left handed hitting IF/CF
  23. Most minor league deals for veterans have these opt outs "if not on 40 man roster on april 4 player can terminate contract" Jays were probably 99% sure he would opt out when they decided not to add him I guess you can think of it like a joint decision because sometimes the veterans DON'T opt out and they actually report to AAA
  24. I guess he was just here as an insurance policy in case people got hurt sucks to be Greg
