  1. Other reward - goodwill towards an extension if he puts up crazy numbers
  2. Dude has been hurt 42 times and is jumping into walls in spring training?
  3. Byron Buxton might be the dumbest guy in baseball https://www.mlb.com/video/byron-buxton-s-leaping-catch-x6628?t=most-popular

    what is going on here?
  6. but he knows nothing about prospects like, Grant77 with a ham radio could scout better than Keegan. All due respect to Keegs. don't Jon Mayo and friends do these mlb.com rankings?
  7. Yeah he was in the lineup 2 days ago. Had a gaffe in RF and a couple strikeouts
  8. Why is Keegan Matheson ranking prospects?
  9. I think it's more about demographics than marketing intent. The Jays have a lot of older fans (not kidding, my grandma loves them) and the Raps have a lot of young fans and immigrant family fans. Give it 20 years and the Raps will not be so regional.
  10. Thank f***ing god Vlad reads the forum and took heed
  11. there are probably almost none seems like most of the late bloomers were AT LEAST healthy and active baseball players in the big leagues before breaking out or at least least dominating in Japan/Korea or something
  12. they are stretching him out but someone needs to get hurt for him to start
  13. Yeah but at 29.5 he's pretty old to fix. Yes, lots of examples of players figuring it out around 30 years old but it's still incredibly rare. And Bird is a guy with zero MLB PA in last two season + he was not great in his AAA year in 2021. So the only issue really is the statement you made about him being one of the most talented hitters on the team. Evidently that ceased being true years ago. In fact, I would say that the last time Greg Bird was statistically interesting was way back in 2015. Every projection system now thinks Greg Bird is a below average hitter BUT he may be able to find the physical capability to be an MLB contributor. A productive platoon hitter would be a great outcome.
  14. It's fine. Not sure I would call it incredibly deep. Pearson and Julian are wild cards. If they don't stick then it's Romano and just some guys. Like it's not a top 10 pen
  15. Vladdy gaining then losing 20 to 30 lbs - an offseason ritual
  16. I hope so but Devers is a stud entering his prime, Chapman is exiting his physical prime and has some holes to fix
  17. Those numbers actually include Casas getting 231 PA and posting a .336 wOBA
  18. jays 3b - 3.9 ss - 5.1 2b - 2.0 1b - 5.9 total === 16.9 war boston 3b - 4.8 ss - 4.8 2b - 4.0 1b - 1.5 total === 15.1 war
  19. It's possible although I tend to assume narratives like that aren't true. But yeah if he's got a .360 wOBA end of April, move him on up
  20. Matt Chapman hit 6th or worse for the As 60 times last year guys
