  1. yeah but did you see the catch randall made last night? he is going to hit 30 HR as a CF in Coors boyo
  2. No f***ing s***. Grichuk hasn't been worth more than 0.5 WAR since his first year in Toronto.
  3. I think he can't command the fastball. Like, can't even hit the zone sometimes.
  4. Yeah but Berrios has a long track record of good, and his butterfly command issues were kind of obvious. I think this is just what Kikichu can look like normally against a good offense. Anyway, they can fix him maybe. He loses the zone with his 4 seamer and then uses his weaker FB variations as a crutch to hit the zone and they get hammered.
  5. Home run was a scraper but he could have given up 3 runs in the first too but got lucky His fastball was terrible. Missing so much it was almost useless.
  6. Someone will get hurt and Biggio will draw in as a full time player for a few weeks and we will see what he's got.
  7. No, positions matter. Biggio is a s*** outfielder (probably). Can't really play him over Tapia. Biggio over Collins at DH - yes, sure. I don't know, I am losing faith in Biggio. I know the projections are still fine but he just looks completely overmatched now and he has looked that way since the start of 2021. I think he may have had a single good month last year?
  8. Good application of an okay rule. I don't even think it's that borderline - he's like a foot off the base in the slow-mo and the bulk of his body is sliding away from the bag to mess up the fielder and he is keeping his upper body upright to increase the interference. In short, f*** Texas.
  9. Yeah many of the reliever pinch hits scream platoon but they are definitely getting Espinal playing time early and rewarding him for being objectively better than Cavan Biggio at literally everything other than the skill of not swinging if that even is a skill seriously go away Cavan your time is up you are not one of the chosen few have a nice career in Oakland
  10. Kikuchi is going to shove all year. He will be the team's 3rd best SP when it's all said and done. 3.5 fWAR.
  11. Well Collins is just to get the guy into a game early on. We don't really know if Collins would actually DH over Biggio throughout the season. I hope not. And Tapia is going to draw into the OF over Biggio of course. Biggio is squarely in a platoon with Espinal and I love to see it. Platoons are great.
  12. I think Alek Monoah's fastball variations give hitters fits. We often see: - A hard sinker running in on RHH. Sometimes they swing at this pitch even though it's like 8 inches inside. - A modern rising 4 seamer near the top of the zone. Often also kind of in on RHH. - A 4 seamer away from RHH that might even have a little cut to it. The statcast visuals after just one start display this pretty well. Top image is the 4 seamer and bottom is the sinker.
  13. This will be like the hunter biden laptop saga
  14. I know the freedom brigade won't like this decision but I think Junior needs a timeout. User JuniorFelix54 has been banned until 04-14-2022 11:00 PM Just crossed the line there with profanity laden personal attacks.
  15. lol Bohm is flopping hard
  16. Raimel Tapia's arm is 2 Spirited Spirit 1: women's softball left fielder Spirit 2: KBO first baseman
  17. So Espinal took the starting job in 4 games haha. Poor Biggio. More like Cavan Smallgio
  18. The saber nerds like Eno Sarris have been banging the drum for Kwan for a year
  19. Raimel Tapia's arm's pronouns are she/her
  20. legit surprised and a bit sad to see Palacios DFA'd, hopefully he sticks around but he seems like the type of player Oakland would pick up
  21. He doesn't even have to do that. He's their 4th best SP (probably) - they just need him to be okay. An ERA between 4 and 4.5 would be acceptable as long as he's in most games and he stays mostly healthy. I would actually love a repeat of 2021 on the aggregate (but not the horrible August+September of course; just the end of season numbers).
