  1. Yeah he's not a leverage reliever. He might be fine as the 6th or 7th arm in a pen.
  2. Support the coach getting a lot of games But the complicit player should get just as many It does not stand to reason that one pitcher instigated this thing on the field and some Ms got more games...
  3. Adam Wainwright is 40 and throwing 88 and he is unreal
  4. Anderson's slider looks nice, no joke
  5. Yeah but why even sign him for that? There are minor leaguers on the 40 who could fill that role. They must thing he could be a bit more than that...
  6. Oakland just blew it in the worst way Walk Catcher interference HBP Catcher interference Double
  7. I honestly do not think Toronto was using Ray as a precedent for the Kikuchi signing It's easy for fans to think like that because of recency and left handedness but I very much believe the front office just measured up Kikuchi and thought on the balance of things he would probably be worth that contract. Upside is part of the balance.

you think they are all deserving? every year the HoF inductees come out in hockey I feel like it's just a hall of very good
  9. I would do that deal, probably. It's basically one 50 FV for another. Pasquantino looks nice though.
  10. season saved?
  11. why the f*** would Seattle even want him oh nvm, he still gets on base enough to not be vomit worthy an upgrade on Upton
  12. Looking at Berrios' vertical release point on the fastball (grouping four seamer and two seamer together) 2019: lowest: 5.35 feet highest: 5.6 feet 2020: lowest: 5.45 feet highest: 5.62 feet 2021: lowest 5.41 feet highest 5.67 feet 2022: lowest: 5.28 feet highest: 5.53 (first start) highest since: 5.49 feet Maybe there is something there? His average vertical release point on all of his pitches = lowest of his career. Nagging arm injuries can make it harder to find that high release point. You see people mention a declining release point as an early sign of injury. Sometimes there is not even PAIN it's just that the shoulder or whatever is weakened.

Honestly every Canadian team is too soft Has been this way for years. Why did all of them trend this way?

Same old story. Leafs don't have enough truculence
  16. Forgot about this. I am wrong, as usual
  17. Yeah he's been a god send
  18. Maybe he's hurt. Losing his release point because of a chronic mild injury
  19. Yeah I checked and noticed that. There are a couple of guys who have only logged in like 40 days this year which is not great
  20. When you think about it, Toronto is getting f***ed by injuries and underperformance. I don't see how you can reasonably blame the team for any of this. Sure Ryu was always an injury risk but who saw Berrios struggling like this? And Kikuchi should have at least been able to pitching like a 1 WAR SP5. Pretty s*** luck ngl
  21. Yimi Garcia was probably a desperation signing. I bet no other team was offering him two years but Toronto felt backed into a corner, after being spurned by dozens of free agent RPs.
  22. Yeah Shapiro and Atkins laughed at this publicly, and said people had no idea how big of a disadvantage Toronto was subject to as far as roster construction goes
  23. "filling out the bullpen should not be difficult" Remember that Toronto has been at a severe free agent disadvantage since the onset of COVID and this continued over last offseason because of the rule differences between the countries, certain players not being vaccinated, or perhaps having unvaccinated family members, etc. They don't have the benefit of a level playing field unfortunately. I would imagine this type of disadvantage hurts even more when trying to sign smaller contracts like with relievers and bench/depth players...
