disappointing to lose Groshans without giving him another crack at AAA
but his numbers do suck
Bass is pitching like an actual good reliever this year and controllable for 2023, cheap option. Throwing more sliders than ever.
Pop throws 97 mph sinkers I think and is controllable forever.
It's not a BAD trade.
juuuuuuuuuuuuuust finish the f***ing trade so all the other trades can happen
i need to know which bags of s*** are being stuffed into Blue Jays jerseys NOW
It's just meant to be an illustration
Some teams in some contexts would value Orelvis a lot. Some would still like Pearson. Some might have a $40M figure on Tiedemann... swap out Pearson for Frasso or Zulu if you want to make it sexier.
Maybe the calculation for Hosmer is
A: accept trade, have to play for Washington for 3 years
B: reject trade, probably get cut, get to choose where to sign (if anyone wants him)
I mean if you can get Moreno you trade Ruiz.
I think Toronto just is not in a position to do this type of trade. Prob not willing to go this far.
Also, sounds like Hosmer contract was being mostly retained so you can even add another $30M of prospect value to the above example.
