    I’m guessing KK will be the CF starter but get hurt at least once and end up getting a 4th OFers helping of playing time each season. He just fits the roster so well right now. Toronto almost had to make this marriage happen. Fingers crossed for health and a big enough chip on his shoulder to feel like he has something left to prove in his career

    First off, the Jays have made enough big ticket signings and trades over the last few years that nobody should be complaining. But they are just super active I think. They call every possible free agent. They have discussions with every team. Some other orgs don’t turn over as many stones. I think that’s a lot of why they show up a lot in rumours. Also, fan bias. You tend to remember when you see your team mentioned

    Beantown got 10 seasons of Bogaerts. His entire 20s. That's amazing. Fumbled Betts horribly though.

    Steamer is pretty bullish on both Barger and Otto Lopez. 113 wRC+ and 102 wRC+ I dunno if either of them is a true shortstop but they probably at least provide 2B/3B/LF coverage. With Moreno... nice as hell to have three depth guys with those types of offensive projections on the strength of no or almost no major league data.

    Nah he's good. Viable backup SS who can start in a pinch. 4.5 WAR in 254 career games. These guys don't grow on trees. The A's just paid 32 year old Aledmys Diaz 2/$14M to be significantly worse. You keep Espinal until free agency, he's a glue guy that keeps your entire roster working right. And an amazing insurance policy on the infield. I mean, unless someone wants to overpay for him...

    Bo will want too much. He'll be confident to a possible fault and think he will be able to enter free agency looking like a superstar stud SS in a few years. Vlad might sign. Seems to genuinely like Toronto.

    Semien is kind of WHY Bo is still at shortstop in a different sense. A bad shortstop my fancy stats until 2018, when he turned 27. So he's the model for shortstop improvement. Although Bo's 2022 was much worse than any of Semien's below average defensive seasons...
