  1. If Toronto wants Cody Bellinger I have trouble seeing why he would sign almost anywhere else. He'd be the starting CF here, clear cut with lots of leash, in a good division for hitting, in a good lineup. Even if Toronto is offering less money it might make sense to play here.
  2. Guardians need to bring in whoever they can afford and land. Naylor and Bell clogs up 1B/DH buuuut typically they bring up players with defensive utility these days so not sure that matters in 2023 much.
  3. Yes, maybe I am being too conservative. Some of you who think you are big macho dudes might need gender affirming hormone therapy as you age.
  4. If any team wanted to pay Bellinger $20M they would have just traded a D prospect to LA for him. I expect him to get like $12M. And there are probably 7 teams offering him that same deal.
  5. Or the public version of WAR is wrong Teams at certain points do of course try to buy playoff wins but that's still WAR!!! It's PWAR. Just because it's not on Fangraphs doesn't mean it does not exist.
  6. Yes, they are paying him for his projected WAR
  7. I have unlimited power internet message board god
  8. Yes. Put your highest projected WAR team on the field.
  9. Even KNOWING your testosterone levels is so incredibly low T can't think of something more girly than bloodwork
  10. So build a time machine, or buy a farm, you little hormone injecting princesses
  11. Was everybody on the Astros a star? Pretty sure they had a few useless players. Gurriel was below replacement level and started all year. Guys like Dubon and Aledmys Diaz suck.
  12. it's a very baseball topic
  13. My brother in Christ, the answer is the same as it always is. It depends how much he costs. Have a blessed day
  14. Ironically, getting testosterone injections is an incredibly low-T thing to do.
  15. Toronto just price enforcing. Someone has to make sure the Orioles don't get a deal.
  16. REYNOLDS Sprint - Jump - OAA (percentiles) 2019 75-67-77 2020 83-31-69 2021 88-46-98 2022 75-23-6 The Outfield Jump rankings have trended down somewhat consistently. Sprint is pretty stable. The OAA in 2022 looks like an aberration. But, UZR has never really liked him and DRS agreed with him being terrible in 2022. I kind of wonder if he had a leg injury in 2022 or something like that? 7/10/22 Oblique 4/26/22 COVID-19 5/9/21 Lower body 9/25/19 Hamstring 7/5/19 hand He turns 28 in January. Some players do start declining at 27/28. Hmmmmmm. This is no small thing. His value swings MASSIVELY based on what you think of his defense. I think at absolutel best MLB teams would project this guy as an average or fringe CF going forward. So forget about the 6 WAR version of Bryan Reynolds.
  17. Yeah that has literally been the problem the last two years. These #7, #8, #9 SP on the depth chart like Hatch etc. come up for spot starts and they have just been USELESS - below replacement level shitballers. Toronto's pitching situation would feel so much better if those #7, #8, #9 SP had a modicum of promise and cromulent swing-man floors.
  18. Dude's ERA track record is hard to look at. I know he eats innings like a champ so in like 6 of his seasons he has been league average by WAR but a coinflip for an ERA better than 5 isn't awesome. Would have taken it as the #5 SP though.
  19. Let’s just all admit ONE thing: Anyone who debates politics on a baseball forum (all of us) is a loser. So none of this is a flex on how much testosterone you have, lmao.
  20. Exactly In the US they kind of just need to get the line out In Canada there is some element of making sure the person actually appreciates what was said to them
  21. Oh Canada has their own version of every Miranda line. I just didn’t want to paste it all.
  22. man it probably takes years off his life pure, seething cope
  23. Canada has their own version of this stuff and it might be even better. USA: You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. CANADA: You have the right to retain and instruct counsel in private without delay. This means that before we proceed with our investigation you may call any lawyer you wish or get free legal advice from Duty Counsel immediately. If you want to call Duty Counsel we will provide you with a telephone and telephone numbers. If you wish to contact any other lawyer, a telephone and a telephone book will be provided. If you are charged with an offence, you may also apply to Legal Aid for assistance. Do you understand? Do you want to call Duty Counsel or any other lawyer?
  24. just for shits and giggles
  25. Yeah they can have Martinez haha Nice deal
