  1. I don't know why he'd need a 30 day rehab But the concussion protocol is a 7 day IL thing
  2. The hyperbole is just the inclusion of Holliday. Odds are he out WARs the 7 other players combined. But, I agree that the Buffalo quartet might be closer to Cowser/Westburg/Kjerstad than people think. I don't think those guys are necessarily that special.
  3. They did add a bat at the deadline. His name is Davis Schneider. They benched him yesterday in favour of Santiago Espinal and lost 1-0.
  4. Another gut punch game They try to get cheeky with rest days and end up losing 1-0. Wasted a Kikuchi gem and squandered a bunch of baserunners. Patheeeeeeeeetic. Presumptuous of course but hard to believe they score nothing if both Chapman and Babe start the game.
  5. The entertainment value of hyperbole aside... It was always at least conceivable that rankings bias was causing people to underrate Toronto's farm system for a window of time in 2023. Hopefully all of the pop up relief pitching and some of these position players in AAA will stick right away. It would be a HUGE boon to Toronto's mid to long term competitive outlook to have, say, two starting quality position players, a few good relievers, and maybe a backend SP all in AA/AAA right now. Between Barger, Schneider, Orelvis, Palmegiani, Leo Jimenez, Horwitz, Juenger, Zulueta, Pearson, Danner, Cooke, Fluharty, Tiedemann, Burnette.... maybe they have that all in the queue.
  6. It probably already has
  7. Isn't this just good evidence supporting the idea that they should go on a run? RISP splits are probably noise The bases empty number would be much closer to true talent
  8. Imagine thinking that Toronto has a small compete window when Schneider, Barger, Horwitz and Orelvis are all on the cusp
  9. He was an absolute fantasy stud for many years
  10. Great hit tool Mediocre pitch recognition The annoying thing is that at time his pitch recognition has seemed better. But, swing decisions have always been one of his issues.
  11. Gausman strugggggling Flaherty is going to shut us out isn't he
  12. okay that makes more sense still like 850 calories in just rice i guess if you are running triathlons and stuff it can work i would explode like a poisoned seagull though
  13. I am sorry did you just say 4 cups of rice FOUR CUPS OF RICE!?
  14. Barger/Orelvis/Schneider give them incredible AAA depth So yeah maybe just some crusty old veterans
  15. Yeah his lack of patience is the one obvious difference from 2021
  16. Wonder if the cancer and treatment somehow contributed to the major injury
  17. Really he's just a massive upgrade on Espinal for the rest of the year
  18. must win game.
  19. I don't think it's a team-wide philosophy thing Each player seems to have specific issues Vlad - same old spray angle and GB% problems Kirk - lost his power stroke for a while + some basic growing pains Springer - is old and losing bat speed, I guess? I dunno. Varsho - mechanical flaws with swing + some poor basic tools
  20. He DOES fall into that bin But the wrinkle is that he always has to some degree and in prior years he has not been an xwOBA underperformer So... I dunno. Is the new home park killing his CF flyballs? Is he fatter and slower than ever and that's part of it? Was he just getting lucky by NOT underperforming his xwOBA in prior years? Should we just stfu and buy Guerrero Jr. jerseys and start cheering for him?
  21. His Angels debut was against Toronto
  22. why do you keep posting this selfie
