  1. Score a f***ing run ugh
  2. Angels level bad
  3. Cole Ragans for Aroldis Chapman omfg that trade is going to haunt Rangers fans
  4. Timmy Tantrums couldn't connect.
  5. Paul DeJong homers in his first SFG game lmfao
  6. Ben Tendies gives them a chance to win!
  7. Yes but those contracts look terrible haha The only "big" RP contracts from last offseason that look decent are the mid-tier signings. Kenley, Martin, Strahm, Estevez, Kahnle. I guess the Green options compare to those deals but still a bit high. Estevez and Kahnle were only only 6.75 and 5.75 AAV for two years.
  8. I honestly think Toronto just views the thing as: A. 1/$2.25M in 2023 90% of the time B. 1/$2.25M in 2023 plus having to pay Green's $6.25M insurance contract in 2024 (Green takes this if he has a serious injury before this year ends) like 8% of the time. C. 2% chance they love Green so much and he is so good in 2023 that they decide to pick up one of their team options
  9. But the point is that teams enter into option arrangements all the time as a negotiation tactic. It's often MOSTLY just a way to placate the player and get them to sign on the line.
  10. Teams negotiate more straightforward things like mutual options all the time, that have basically no chance of getting exercised I mean if Green looks like an absolute weapon from here on, then maybe Toronto takes the financial risk. Just hard to imagine Green being so good that they want to commit $20M+ to him. He's going to throw like, 10 innings.
  11. Kind of hard to see the Jays picking up either of those options. Green picks up his if eligible and if he ends the year on a weird note or injured, I guess?
  12. Robert Jr. is a stud and under control through 2027 The fair trade would be like... Vlad + Varsho + Tiedemann, hahahahaha
  13. Worse by what measure? Stuff+ 2023 = 105 2022 = 103 2021 = 117 2020 = 100 And by all run value measurements (results) 2023 is his most effective year for the slider. I think the intentionally had Kikuchi add some velo to the SL and take movement off of it, so he could command it better or use it without it being so all over the place
  14. Can't agree at all.
  15. yeah he wasn't even "bad" at the start he was just ERA unlucky xFIP in the first half was under 3.00 but his ERA was 4.66 buttttttttttttttttttt he is probably maybe kind of "hittable" given how many strikes he throws and the shape of his fastball so I dunno. ERA vs DIPS may not tell the whole story. I am sure the Jays analytics continue to define him as very good and that's why he keeps getting the ball in medium leverage despite the anecdotal failures.
  16. Yeah and you can add to this some of the smaller trades to fill out the roster are paying huge dividends this year. Mainly Richards, Swanson, and Merrifield. Swanson has almost as much WAR as Teoscar! Toronto's roster is so well constructed this year. It really is just a few core players underperforming, that is weighing the team down. Vlad, Springer, Manoah, Kirk, and Varsho (but DV is kind of doing alright now all things considered).
  17. The Brandon Belt home run was so f***ing satisfying, lol That + the Bo play + Romano beasting in the 10th Very very satisfying end to a game that Schneider tried his best to Yimi into the ground
  18. I don't see any really egregious rosters. Last week of the regular season so it's hard to get on people's cases about not setting lineups. But, jaysblue did forget the red flag add rule so we gotta enforce that. When the league renews for 2024 I will be deleting his 3rd round pick. Don't let me forget, Spanky!
  19. What do we know about Franco's contact with the girls? At least two girls have raised concerns -- one publicly, one with law enforcement. One of the girls, whose name and age have not been independently confirmed, alleged she was in a relationship with Franco and posted pictures with him on social media. Her Instagram account has since been deleted. Still, the allegations were enough for MLB to mobilize its department of investigations to look into the claims. About a month earlier, a different girl contacted police to discuss Franco, according to Diario Libre, a Dominican newspaper. Prosecutors in Peravia, the Dominican province where Franco grew up, acknowledged that an investigation into him is open and being run by a unit that focuses on minors and gender violence. The lead prosecutor, Olga Dina Llaverias, is well known in the country as a specialist in child abuse cases. ^^^^^ that's kind of all we have so far
  20. Given that Kirk is perhaps a big defensive upgrade on Jansen, and Jansen may be a more dangerous hitter than Vlad... The Jays best lineup right now might be Jansen DH, Kirk C, Belt 1B, Vlad on the pine. hhahhaa
  21. Belt has a .394 wOBA since May 1 Vlad has a .324 since then and -0.1 fWAR
  22. At one point I thought Belt might be like... 2-3 weeks from a DFA
  23. Yup it's in less than two hours Not a lot of action!
