not a horrible group projection to be honest. that's like an 85 win team. who knows if it's legit though. last year they projected for like 87 wins and we all saw what happened. -

The Cardinals are really a dogshit organization. It's been obvious for years and years yet they kept kind of winning in spite of themselves. The weak division helped, but they probably also had a few really good old school scouts or decision makers keeping the org afloat. But it's over. The Willson Contreras situation is embarrassing. They sign him and immediately dislike the player. Now they are moving him to 1B full time with three years left on his contract. Their pitching development and strategy has been atrocious. If they do trade Sonny Gray, that is going to be so ugly.

Maybe the likeliest outcome is the Yankees and Cole just figure out a new term entirely He opted out of 4/$144 Yankees have the option of doing 5/$180 Maybe they go to him and say "hey we will give you the $180 but we want to do it over 7 years" Might not make much difference to Cole. Odds are he is cooked or just a problematic injury prone dude at 39 anyway.

Cavan Biggio will sign for the major league minimum but defer it for 20 years so that the MLBTR headline is "Rays sign Craig Biggio's son to one year, $1.08M deal"
