  1. - Teoscar wanted Toronto to outbid the Dodgers - Candelario cost $45M - Bellinger and Chapman were holding out for six figures - JDM was holding out for a huge AAV - Pederson wanted the west coast - Ohtani used us - Soler and Gurriel commanded uncomfortable money - Hoskins commanded multiple years coming off major surgery (and has been replacement level) - Boston sniped us for O'Neill What was a girl to do other than reluctantly sign Justin Turner, Izzy Falaffle, and drunk dial KK one more time?
  2. He's just going to go to AAA and get f***ed over by the ABS system and lose all of this confidence
  3. Pardinho promoted to Buffalo, if he shoves there too then he should be up this summer Honestly though why even send him to Buffalo?
  4. MiLB deal for James Kaprielian
  5. Yes they could have traded for Tyler O'Neill
  6. Not Toronto!
  7. The whining about not signing Teoscar is dumb in my opinion because hindsight free agent selections are just logically problematic. We never have any idea what discussions were and were not had, what the players wanted etc. FA generally is also just a huge crapshoot these days so it's too convenient to go back and say Toronto should have signed X player that is having a good season. They could have elevated their sights to that tier of the player pool and ended with Jorge Soler, right? On the other hand, lots of people wanted Tyler O'Neill and it is actually incredibly annoying and lame that he Jays evidently did not make a serious push for him. And we know that this was an actionable decision because the player has no say in it - the gray area is so much smaller here because all we have to do is say that Toronto needed to beat the actual trade package. And that trade package was weak. It looks like it was a crummy 35 FV depth SP in Victor Santos (getting pumelled in AAA) and then a so-so RP with team control in Nick Robertson (also 35 FV per Fangraphs). So for two 35 FV prospects and $5.8M in salary, Toronto could have had a player that fit an obvious hole in LF and had demonstrated well above average upside. I guess Atkins just fell in love with Kevin Kiermaier's pretty face or something. Sigh. And O'Neill was dealt from a team that frequently trades with Toronto. The Jays just didn't want Tyler O'Neill at all I guess.
  8. Imagine if literally any Blue Jay could ever hit a 400 foot homer? Imagine
  9. Houck (tomorrow) murders RHB Bello (two days) is better against RHB Pivetta has reverse splits this year and is pretty neutral for his career so I guess this might be the best game of the three to actually play Springer or Turner??? Hopefully they f***ing sit the next two games jesus christ Toronto Blue Jays you spineless f***ing limp dick no nuts organization omfg
  10. Initiate Votto to Horwitz talent and skills upload sequence
  11. Horwitz has no errors so far and a +1 OAA!!!!!
  12. Arenado seems like the kind of player that will get in despite his WAR perhaps falling short
  13. Overall body of work? Is there a specific RP that you think is being mis-coached right now? Not sure I can think of one at all.
  14. Addison Barger already has batted balls at: 108.5 mph, 106.2, 105.3, 103.2, and 102.4 That is in just 17 batted ball events. 29% are 100mph+ Compare to some Jays who hit with pop. Danny Jansen has 117 BBE this year and has a maxEV of 106.7. 21 of 117 BBE are 100+ mph (17.9%) Davis Schneider has 114 BBE, 31 at 100mph or more (21.5%) MaxEV of 109.3 This is not exactly scientific and Barger could just have a couple of lucky swings in there, but I kind of think that we are going to start seeing some beastly exit velos from him. It is quite possible that he emerges as a 114 maxEV guy, or something like that, which would put him in his own tier on the team just below Vlad. This is supported by how he swings, his measurable bat speed, and physical characteristics. Think Matt Chapman pop.
  15. Most of their rotation is complete death to RHB Maybe Barger and Horwitz will give the Jays a lift against these SP like Houck. But I would not expect the RHB to do much of anything. Springer shouldn't even get a start against Boston tbh, might as well just have KK in their for D every game.
  16. And sell Caballero? He's like, their new franchise player bro. Ray forever.
  17. Their script for 2024 was always going to be: Step 1 - survive Step 2 - thrive once DeGrom, Scherzer, Mahle return They are falling behind a bit too much on the Step 1 because of the Jung injury, not getting as much as expected from Carter and Langford, some other injuries and underperformances (Seager, Adolis). Second half sleeping giant though. Houston, not so much IMO because they just don't have the arms or the farm that they used to have. Not really much cavalry in sight for them.
  18. The Dodgers don't exactly have MLB pitching depth to deal from given all of their injuries right now. But they do have some edge of the roster position player depth: Gavin Lux, James Outman, Miguel Vargas. I guess you could also include Andy Pages in this group since he is unproven, but he is hitting well for them so much harder to get him. And I would assume that they have some minor league arms worth acquiring, that they would be willing to give up. Guys like Landon Knack or Justin Wrobleski. A Bo Bichette trade to LAD seems like a foregone conclusion. Get him out of here! They needed him BEFORE Mookie broke his hand. There are literally no other starting SS on the potential trade market. It's Bo or No(body).
  19. 1.5 games back of Boston now 6 of the next 9 games vs Boston HUGE games pass Boston and Toronto has the pole position of all the WC3 wannabes. one series left against the Twins (WC3) as well unfortunately no games left against KCR (WC2) to make up ground directly I think the Buffalo boys are going to do this. Get ready for a non-stop summer of: - Spencer Horwitz dink singles - Davis Schneider dingers and inexplicable days off - Ernie Clement dice roll balls in play and tomahawk chops at pitches at his eyeballs - Addison Barger absolute chaos 110 mph grounders and 110 mph throws Trade Bo Bichette to the Dodgers to fuel this run. Get win-now pieces.
  20. Personally I think a lineup with Horwitz, Schneider, Clement, and Barger is very fun and good TV potentially
  21. That's a one month split. Fundamentally useless information on its own. Only thing that could justify him getting these days off would be a minor injury
  22. They CANNOT keep Mayza around anymore No s*** guys can dump his FB into the OF at will, it's 92mph slop
  23. Yeah I think he's mistaken free!
  24. Didn't even cross my mind that Horwitz would somehow take playing time from Schneider What a complete f***ing joke this organization has been Disarray. No idea what they are doing at any turn.
