  1. Andres Gimenez projection = 3.1 fWAR Contract: 2025 age 26 $10,571,429 2026 age 27 $15,571,428 2027 age 28 $23,571,429 2028 age 29 $23,571,428 2029 age 30 $23,571,429 2030 age 31 $23,000,000 *** 2.5M buyout Call it a $20M AAV through age 30. Basically owed 5/$100M here are the free agents with 3+ WAR projections: Soto - age 26 signed for a billion dollars Bregman - age 31 - 4.0 fWAR projection - unsigned Burnes - age 30 - 3.9 fWAR projection - unsigned Snell - age 32 - 3.6 fWAR projection - 5/$182M Adames - age 29 - 3.5 fWAR projection - 7/$182M Fried - age 31 - 3.4 fWAR projection - 8/$218M Kikuchi - age 34 - 3.1 fWAR projection - $21M AAV for three years Torres - age 28 - 3.0 fWAR projection - unsigned I mean it's a good trade in light of the FA signings. It's a significantly younger player than Adames, on a much better deal, and they have similar comprehensive projections.
  2. When Grayson gets hurt in spring their rotation will be Eflin Kremer Sugano Suarez Rogers L.O.L. Also, isn't the LF fence coming in?
  3. Sugano and Albert Suarez Twinsies?
  4. He's a younger IKF Fans will not love him
  5. How, pray tell, can a player be good, cheap, and not cost much? Manaea might just be really good now At this point I will take anything. Big trade, big signing, selling Vlad, I don't even care. Just do stuff and I dont mean sign another Justin Turner in two months.
  6. I think it's just pitch choices though His velo isn't really down. Stuff still great. Pitching to contact with the cutter
  7. Also limited space and some politics there so tough spot for the Yankees and a detrimental precedent for the Mets to set, now Pete Alonso is going to want a suite lol
  8. I wouldn't even hate those numbers to be honest
  9. Their internal projections probably have Gimenez closer to 4 WAR and Horwitz more of a 2 WAR ceiling with more risk. The boring take is that they just like Gimenez' total package as a defense first 2B and think he has value on his contract. The more interesting take is that they think Gimenez is a shortstop and Bo is gone.
  10. Hate losing Horwitz.
  11. I kind of like them tbh
  12. He was a 6 win player at 23 Could be an amazing trade I bet they gave up a lot for him actually
  13. Now we can talk about the Gimenez Window!
  14. Hard to see non tendering Romano and then giving Yimi this contract as shrewd or anything Obviously there are medical things we don't know but c'mon
  15. It is absolutely f***ing hilarious that the Toronto Blue Jays offered Shohei Ohtani $700M and didn't get him, then offered Juan Soto $760M and didn't get him either. Just the most elite Price Enforcing GM in the sport. There is no other Price Enforcing GM who compares to Ross. A complete weapon of a Bridesmaid.
  16. why don't we just wait and see about that one lol if he is the #5 guy going into spring as the other dorks said, I feel fine. that's not a presumed leverage spot.
  17. Kind of funny Shatkins will look like a dork if he has to give a C closer more than that Paul Sewald for $10M anybody? lol
  18. Trade Vlad!
  19. Holy s***
  20. Some really interesting non tenders this year
  21. Sounds like Soto would be paid for by the special desperate Rogers extra bonus payroll anyway So if they do sign him they likely still have a bag of cash for a couple more pieces
  22. There is always some big FA whale who holds the entire market up, these days Obviously we have Soto now but also Roki Sasaki not getting posted until January... there are a bunch of teams who have Sasaki #1 on their hit list, they aren't going to sign Jack Flaherty for $100M when they might be able to get Sasaki for $7M

They are old and bad I am not surprised they suck now. I am actually just surprised they managed to be good last year and were so good two years ago. I thought it would all end with Bergeron's career. The Elias Lindholm contract is horrendous.
  24. It is 2024, guys can throw a few bullpens and you can more or less get reasonable MLB projections of them based on pitch shape I'm not even saying they HAD to let him debut out of camp. But if they weren't going to, they needed to keep him down long enough so his odds of being ROY were zero. No cap they made a franchise altering fumble for a small market team
