    B.J. Ryan was outstanding his first year and then got derailed by injuries. Given where the team was on the win curve, the additions of Ryan and Burnett were pretty reasonable, and if Ryan had progressed along a more traditional decline, that contract would have been fine.

    Yeah, A.J. Burnett gave us 10.4 WAR for $28.6M across three years, which is fantastic enough on it's own, but then we also got Noah Syndergaard (via James Paxton) as compensation for his departure. That was an amazing free agent contract for the Blue Jays.

    It's pretty remarkable how butthurt the Islanders fans are on all of their blog(s?). They really seem to think Tavares owed them something, despite the fact that he gave them the best years of his career and signed one extension while being on a very terrible team.

    I don't really get all the Leaf haters... Leaf fans have suffered for a very long time. I wouldn't even call myself a Leaf fan, but for the first time in a very long time, I'm actually looking forward to watching hockey. I stopped watching Leafs hockey not because the team was bad but because the process was terrible, but they rebuilt the right way, and now they're poised to be the Cubs of the NHL for several years. Just as I can't hate the Yankees for assembling an awesome young core, I don't get all the Leaf hatred. Yes, many of the fans are insufferable r-tards, but this team is going to be super fun to watch for any objective hockey fan.

    My tank job hasn't gone quite as well as I'd hoped, but I'm hoping for a 2nd have nosedive after selling off any desirable assets with 3 year shelf lives. My pitching in particular should be quite heinous when all is said and done.
