  1. Yordan Alvarez would be my fav realistic target. David Paulino would be an interesting second piece.
  2. Sweet, we turning this into a safe space for trans-hating? Sup with Chaz Bono amirite?
  3. I mean, you're all kind of f***ed until silvergun's roster starts seriously declining in 2-3 years. I just decided to get out ahead of it.
  4. Manny Machado is your only dynasty asset who isn't past his Best Before date. Votto is a slap hitter, McCutchen sux, Donaldson's career might be over, Cano got popped for PEDs and is shifting to 1B when he comes back, Arrieta/Price/Cueto are now SP3s. Scary times indeed, probably should blow it up after getting bounced in the first round.
  5. Don't worry, he sux anyway.
  6. That is a bit suprising; his offence doesn't seem good enough to support that. He's 60-42-10 on batting and 71-35-6 on pitching, I haven't run the PRs but I'd bet that batting record is higher than expected for his z score.
  7. Cincinnati is a dogshit organization and that trade was panned even at the time. The return Cinci got from the Yankees was laughable, as was the return the Yankees got from the Cubs on the opposite end of the spectrum. That aside, Osuna is younger, cheaper, and has significantly more control than Chapman did. We aren't getting Gleyber Torres, but there's no chance we would accept the pile of puke that the Reds got.
  8. There's no leverage whatsoever for buying teams. Osuna has multiple years of remaining control. Either an acceptable return is offered or it isn't. There's no reason to believe that Rogers would interfere, there's no history of that. Shapiro has total autonomy for baseball operations within the confines of his allotted budget.
  9. And I'm telling you there is absolutely zero chance that a front office as pragmatic as the Jays will be moving Osuna for a subpar return. This front office will absolutely not be pressured into making a move by public opinion one way or the other, nor will they accept a suboptimal asset for one of their best trade chips at a critical moment in the rebuild.
  10. The perfect buyer would be Cleveland. They want controllable elite relievers, they're a contender, they have appropriate prospects (McKenzie plz), and they are obviously well connected to our front office. Houston and Atlanta would also be good fits.
  11. This is a bogus narrative. Atkins isn't going to sell Osuna unless he gets a Top 50 type prospect, whether that happens now or next season. His trade value is not lower now than it will be a year from now, it's higher. Whatever team is looking to buy him wants him for this playoff run plus the additional years of control. His trade value is not affected by this suspension, all that matters is health, effectiveness, and years of control.
  12. Disagree. He was a trade candidate regardless of the suspension and it probably makes him less likely to get traded.
  13. Ken Rosenthal reports that the Jays are actively shopping Osuna.
  14. On the contrary, his advanced baldness for a 23 year old should make him more aerodynamic. Maybe he just gets distracted trying to punch people on the way.
  15. Rougned Odor is 9/17 in SB lol
  16. Every time I think my team has turned a corner, I get another gut-punch injury. First Seager goes down with TJS, then Syndergaard goes on the DL, Ohtani gets shut down from pitching probably for the year, Syndergaard goes on the DL again, Syndergaard goes on the DL AGAIN, and now f***ing Judge goes down for a month with a fractured wrist. FML I can't catch a fricking break this year.
  17. Thing is, you were right about Teoscar but wrong about the regression timelines, so you still don’t get to claim victory. You could have put it at Aug 1, or end of season, and had all the I told-you-sos in the world, but instead you were hoisted on your own petard. As an avid gambler, you should have known that was a bad bet.
  18. Actually, I would. Tank hard and write this season off. Maximize service time on every single legit prospect until this team is a contender. Improving this team from bad to mediocre this year while burning service time on actual prospects is a lose-lose scenario. Min-max that s***.
  19. Are we assuming that because all pitchers break, we shouldn't bother trying to maximize their service time under the assumption of a best case scenario? That seems feckless. There's nothing to be gained from calling up SRF right now, even just from the perspective of trying to maximize 40 Man Roster assets.
  20. I would take Estrada on a one year deal for $6-8M. We are going to need some innings in any case.
  21. Wall went deep last night in his first game with the Fisher Cats after switching clubhouses earlier in the day (also had 3 Ks and a BB).
  22. You gotta think Solarte is on the move next for pretty much anything.
