  1. Bowden frantically browsing fan forums for potential tweets. Everyone chime in with your Desmond predictions to help him out!
  2. Yes, but there's a difference between a report that one person tweets and a certainty. Edwin might take 3/60 in late January, not in early December.
  3. Haha, I didn't follow as much this past summer due to working non-standard hours, so naturally fell out of posting regularly. You must have slowed down your pace as well, I thought your post count would be at least 50k by now.
  4. Edwin hasn't signed yet. Jose hasn't signed yet. What are you basing this on?
  5. It's interesting how teams are starting to get away from spending big on free agent sluggers. Even a few years ago Edwin probably tops $100M easily.
  6. Yeah, I'd be totally okay with this. Health and age are concerns but if they can rotate him through 1B/DH and the occasional corner OF start, I can see him remaining productive into his late 30s. Everyone always says he has "old player skills". Plus, I'd like to see the FO show some solidarity by committing to a franchise icon. I understand a lot of posters here aren't interested in that narrative, but I think there is something to be said for showing loyalty and appeasing the fanbase (to a certain extent).
  7. Ooh I don't know, that sounds like a big commitment...
  8. One day you'll get that best troll award. One day...
  9. I'm just glad to see Heyman is in fact capable of using capitalization.
  10. I was lurking recently and saw that you had a thread about trading for Yasiel Puig. I only just glanced at the thread but I remember thinking "nice one NJH, I agree". I like that a little better than going after Cutch. I agree with the posters saying that this would be an AA move, and I think reminiscent of the Reyes and Tulo trades. Former stars who lost a bit of value and could return to form but actually maybe they won't because they're old. As cliche and arbitrary as it may seem, it's hard not to be worried about McCutchen having his worst season just as he passes the big 3-O. Combine that with the three-year decline in K% and baserunning numbers, and his stardom days could be over. That's not to say he couldn't be the 3-4 WAR player he's projected as for some years to come, but right now Pittsburgh will be marketing him as an MVP calibre player who just had one down year. His trade value has dropped but not significantly. If we're going to gamble, I'd rather it be on a younger player.
  11. Good, this is good. Shapiro/Atkins are finding cost-efficient ways to maintain this roster as a contender. These are the kind of depth signings we didn't see from AA, who instead went for the big splash, high impact moves, with mixed results. Very no-panic offseason from the front office to this point. Assuming this closes the book on re-signing EE, this should leave room for acquiring a quality outfielder, and perhaps bringing back Bautista on a short term deal.
  12. Everyone just wants to gain "cred" at your expense.
  13. Keuchel is carving up the Yankees. 11 K's through 6. He's like a super-powered Mark Buehrle.
  14. I don't think Goins should be in the lineup if his suckiness is going to rub off on Reyes.
  15. I'm just in awe that that guy was able to stand up in time to make that catch.
  16. This will surely mean the doom of all our division rivals.
  17. A little uncertain about the draft date but I'll join if you'll have me.
  18. But we just got a good framer...

Okay enough with Ross shooting 3's already.
  20. Orioles fans seem incredibly insecure. They're always so desperate to prove to everyone that their team's success is real.
  21. I cannot believe how good this offseason has been so far. When the season ended I was thinking it was time to sell and trade Bautista, but instead AA has just decided to become a good GM again. Great trade.
  22. Holy s***, what a trade. Will miss Lawrie but I love this.

Ugh those shots by DeRozan at the end of the quarter. Why does he have to try and do everything?
  24. That was hilarious. Like 10 different people jumped on him in that one thread.
  25. Come on BTS. Surely you remember jariax's long point form posts and infatuation with David Cooper.
