  1. I understand there's some guys who like digging right down to nitty gritty of the numbers to determine particular true player values. But when following baseball for as long as some have and having a good understanding, comparing Rasmus to his peers in CF isn't all that difficult using the numbers provided and being able to easily tag him as to what he is. To each their own is true...and lame was an unnecessary term to use.
  2. I think its overkill as well. Who really cares what Rasmus' true talent level is? And even if you did care, regressing a bunch of different numbers to still come up with a non-definitive answer is lame.
  3. Lowering the walls to either 8 feet across, or have the walls uneven heights. And having the park asymmetrical would also be nice.
  4. I'd like to see a couple upper deck OF sections turned into patio type areas like the Pepsi Porch at Comerica. The seating areas/concrete would have to be demolished and reconfigured. And in doing so the Jays could hold an online seat auction for fans of the seats being removed.
  5. Catching on I see. Nice!
  6. There's a lot more to base running than SB's. You watched any games Moises Sierra's played in? Bad base runner and not a burner. Although Fangraphs's metric for base running is something I don't think I can rely on too much seeing as they have Rajai Davis and Alex Rios as very good base runners.
  7. Obviously he's not as good a hitter, not even close and I expect some regression next year to make the difference even greater. It's just that Donaldson fields and runs the bases well. Think about this.....fresh off putting up a bizarre 4.4WAR in 2006, who's the better player , Reed Johnson or Jim Thome. Things even out, unless Donaldson's another Jose Bautista situation.
  8. He's one of those mushy breakout types playing way above anything he's done in pro' ball.
  9. I understand he's a good candidate. My scenario was based more on the situation of missing or making the playoffs by one game. And crowning a less deserving player due to slightest of differences in team record.
  10. Amazing to think based on Angrioter, or whoever he is, thought process. If Josh Donaldson was dealt at the deadline to a non-playoff team, Miguel Cabrera wins the MVP.
  11. So essentially what you're saying is, the highest WAR player of his respective league whose team makes the playoffs. So if the Pirates were to miss the playoffs by 1 game=Matt Carpenter MVP. If the Pirates slide into the playoffs by one game, McCutchen is the MVP. Stupid f***ing thinking.
  12. Andre Dawson & George Bell, 1987???
  13. Old, broken, expensive, defensively limited......what more could a team ask for.
  14. Like where he tried convincing people Johnny Olerud should be in the HOF because he wore a helmet in the field?
  15. A lot of stupid talk to convey a little sarcasm.
  16. So the guy we acquire to play LF has to be a burner. Because if Rasmus gets injured or sits, Melky and Bautista would be atrocious manning CF
  17. I'd like the Jays to make a play on Craig Gentry in Texas or Bourjos.
  18. If Gose should spend another year in AAA, we may as well trade him. There's no reason to keep him down there. This year in Buffalo was an obvious spiteful year from him, so what would the point be?
  19. Essentially Beeston does have a boss. If Alex's ear was taken by Beeston's about Team Building and that's what Alex diverted to from what he was doing. He should've just resigned for changing direction, not trusting what he was doing and listening to someone stuck in 1992 & 93 like most of the fanbase.
  20. The fan would've been better off asking for a package from Chris Davis or the Orioles.
  21. What do you mean by culture? I hope you don't mean on-field decisions or direction, because Beeston is an absolute f***ing idiot in regards to knowing anything that's going on player wise in baseball. The man does not stop yakking about the 92 & 93 Jays teams like he's stuck in time.
  22. I wasn't aware Beeston was the owner.
  23. Yes, No, Yes, No....."best people" being who, ownership? Sorry but when Francona and his family were dragged through the mud in that scathing article after the collapse of the team and the players were trashed and there wasn't a peep about MGMT. Sorry, those aren't good people.
  24. You're not a fan of trading those players?
