    You don't really understand age relative to level do you? Pillar's been older than prospect consideration for every year of pro' ball he's played. So I expect a big regression there. I expect him to be more of a 4th OF type, so with a lack of playing time, more regression. And with him being older than the average decent prospect and averaging 11 HR's over the course of a full season, that with his steals and slash line. I'd project something like a poor man's Gerardo Parra

If JJ's agent says he'd likely accept a QO and the Jays don't want JJ back but want the pick in what appears to be a pretty huge 2014 draft Can a team offer a multi-year deal that is deemed a QO (13 or 14M for the 2014 year), but its an offer that would force JJ to turn it down? Eg. 2014- enough money to be deemed a QO 2015- 1M 2016- 1M 2017- 1M

    You're aware that Beeston doesn't own the Jays right? So essentially these wheeler dealer owners you're talking about are being compared to the President of the team who is clearly out of touch with what's going on in baseball and doesn't have the final say in big decisions. Heck, even the owner has to answer to a Board of Directors to get huge sums of money to make moves.

    Just a small upgrade IMO. You're talking an older, bandaid RP with declining peripherals and he's needing to rely more on his offspeed stuff than his more hittable, slowing fastball. IMO Jacobs is what Kalish was suppose to be, but slightly less talented.

    And there's situations where adults are up in arms when something is said in public that's mainstream with youth and are offended, because 50 years ago it was forbidden to say. I do agree what Escobar did was wrong. But is blown way out of proportion.

    What about a deal centred around Taveras & Kolten Wong for Bautista & Josh Johnson and smaller pieces to fill the trade out? Carpenter appears to have a hold on 2B for the time being.
