  1. The players are stuck between a rock and a hard place. MLB encourages players to be active in Social media. But when they are and fans berate them and act like the loogans, the players are supposed to sit back and not say anything? IMO, I don't think so. I'm glad players give it back to fans.
  2. Maybe he's into fisting his wife's ringer?
  3. Then every catcher in baseball should be loading their hands up with something since its legal IYO.
  4. So if other catchers wear batting gloves its okay for them to load up their throwing hand with pine tar? Just asking?
  5. After celebrating his walk off single, Stephen Vogt celebrated by raising his pine tar, caked hand. http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/dRkMmXZiyKsxfDGVM9wtLg--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Zmk9ZmlsbDtoPTc1ODtweW9mZj0wO3E9NzU7dz05NjA-/http://media.zenfs.com/en_us/News/ap_webfeeds/5c1a006dade364213f0f6a70670044e5.jpg How is it illegal for a pitcher to have any foreign substance on himself, yet its okay for his battery mate to have his hand covered in pine tar?
  6. I hate it when players grind through injuries and their performance takes a dive. Get the f***ing thing addressed and stop trying to be a hero. That is unless their subpar performance is still better than the player who would be replacing them.
  7. I'm always for players getting their injuries diagnosed, addressed & getting immediate surgery or the proper care for them. So if it means these guys are wherever they are rehabbing and not with the Jays on the final weekend then great.
  8. I still wanna know what changed with Alex? Targeting strength up the middle, youth, defence, pitching.....ramming team friendly deals down players throats, stockpiling comp' picks......creative moves (Olivo trade), value trades....... Now.....trade everything for old players who were intended to provide stability and immediate excitement. Not one creative small trade or move. It seems like since money has been made available Alex has become lazy in digging for value It's funny because the Jays are what the fans were ridiculing the Yanks & Sox as not long ago. Old, expensive, mediocre farm teams.
  9. As Branch Rickey said "It is better to trade a player a year too early than a year too late."
  10. I guess Alex has bad taste in women then, because Jason Frasor is pitching for the Rangers.
  11. Leaffie, my post wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the point you made and how fans would've reacted to a s***** 2012, with a Top 5'ish farm still intact. Meaning the average fan sees what happens on the field for the big club, but has little idea about anything beyond that.
  12. It really is sad how out of touch fans are with the big picture.
  13. It would be naïve to believe teams could always contend solely around prospects. But adding solid players into the mix under reasonable contracts, and I don't see how it wouldn't lead to having constant competitive teams with a chance to contend pretty much all the time.
  14. Epstein, in the extensive news release, insisted the overhaul is on target. "Soon, our organization will transition from a phase in which we have been primarily acquiring young talent to a phase in which we will promote many of our best prospects and actually field a very young, very talented club at the major league level," he said. "The losing has been hard on all of us, but we now have one of the top farm systems in baseball, some of the very best prospects in the game, and a clear path forward. "In order for us to win with this group -- and win consistently -- we must have the best possible environment for young players to learn, develop and thrive at the major league level." http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/9748610/chicago-cubs-fire-manager-dale-sveum-two-years I guess we'll see if Theo sells out.
  15. Can we just make it a mutual apology? The team assembled wasn't great, the players played pretty bad and the people who attended games, I guess you can call them fans have been s*** since the Jays became a team. Let's not kid ourselves, the fans who go to games are an embarrassment
  16. I have no idea why Sanchez +++ should be going to Oakland for Parker, but I guess fans want wins immediately, so lets just empty the farm and everyone can all have a good cry in a few years when there's nothing left.
  17. Young girls still don't look at the scoreboard or understand the game, so they'd still come out. The Astros know this all too well.
  18. I can't f***ing wait. It's gonna be ultra exciting watching a bunch of declining vets.
  19. Does this mean we have DJ Davis knocking on the door? Holy f***, lets take it easy when we're saying that players in Rookie ball are knocking at the door.
  20. Profar + the loss of Bautista's salary, for Bautista = win
  21. There's no way d'Arnaud's 31.
  22. When you witness some people only talk about advanced stats....you have to wonder.
  23. As an adult and seeing how fans act behave who haven't delved into and have somewhat of an understanding of advanced stats, I don't think I'd wanna go back to being that. I enjoy advanced stats....but not to the extent some do. But I also enjoy taking games in all over the place, not caring about advanced stats during the game and hoping to witness something cool.
  24. Lots of hustle needed on the defensive side to play SS??????
  25. As Gordie said, to each their own. As for the magic....depends on the circumstance. If you're at an intriguing game.....WS, or no-hitter in progress and the fan is thinking about numbers and match-ups and all that s*** and oblivious to the magnitude of the game....then yeah, the magic is missed. If they're a fan who solely gets immersed in numbers and everything is numbers and match-ups and precise rankings, that's their thing and there'll never be any magic. I think its Jeff Sullivan from FG. He's made it known a couple times he's becoming less and less a fan of baseball due to the better understanding of the game and less of a fan whose heart is into the game.
