  1. Wut? I was against the Dickey deal and s***, but let's not get carried away. the Padress got Grandal AND Alonso, who were both almost ready to play in the majors, anyway....what a joke of a season.
  2. Oh, there's the downside to watching the game on mute when those 2 clowns are doing the games. When Buck and Tabler start calling out a few more like the pitchers and management, I'll unmute them.
  3. LOL. Hey, had just got home from work when I posted that! And to answer my own question, they'd have a heck of a farm system and financial flexibility to be able to acquire younger, quality pitchers than they got. Then again, AA would just trade or sign middle relievers.
  4. As bad as the Dickey and Buehrle trades were imo, where would this team be without them? Morrow will probably miss a significant amount of time so that will leave only the 2 old geezers standing. I hope I'm wrong about Morrow, but his velocity has been up and down all year, I wouldn't be surprised if the injury had simply not fully manifested itself till now. Remember, JJ had some minor bicep issues that turned into a month+. I also expect Janssen to go on the DL soon. All of this obviously means that things may get worse not better.
  5. I meant to say, "Pillar should be in AAA and Burns in AA".
  6. I don't think AA will call up guys that are performing well in Buffalo unless he can send them back there without losing them. Guys like Negrych, Jimenez, Gomez and others were signed to help keep the promise (yes another promise), AA made to the Bisons' owner. This, at least in part, explains why a guy like Negrych, who's a Buffalo native, hasn't been given a chance with the Blue Jays. I don't think Wagner would be called up unless he has options, which I doubt he does.
  7. Lol, maybe, but just saying at least all the playing time AA gave to all the AAAA players is paying off....unfortunately, it's in Buffalo.
  8. I agree with you, but I'd say he at least succeeded in putting together a winning team in Buffalo...gotta give him that.
  9. Terrible loss given that Morrow started and had to leave injured. I don't buy the "he'll make his next start" crap coming out of the Blue Jays, we've seen that before turn into a month+ on the DL for Josh Johnson and others. News of Janssen being injured as well just adds insult to injury. Too bad, but let's hope Johnson can 1st return and then pitch well so hopefully AA can get a bit more than a broken bat for him.
  10. Not with the jays' luck, lol. That Gattis guy looks like a bear, he could do some real damage on Morrow, not that it takes much.
  11. Last thing the Jays need is Greinke vs Quentin 2
  12. Not sure where he would've been taken, but certainly higher than the 11th round. It's good to see a guy hitting well and showing a good BB%. Christian Lopes is also doing well and it was good to see that he started walking after his BA fell under .300. They're far away though, but since Burns is 22 going on 23, I really think they should promote him to AA soon to see how he handles it. I'd also like to think they'd try him at 2B.
  13. Sorry, I should've said why in my post. He changed schools so he had to sit out that year.
  14. Anyone heard anything on Sanchez? I'm worried he'll be out for a while.
  15. If you read about him a bit, you'll find that he sat out the 2011 college season which probably cost him being drafted higher than the 11th round that year. I'd like to see him promoted to AA soon.
  16. With Reyes back at SS, Kawasaki could provide some good D at 2B and with his ability to get on base and make the pitcher work, I'd be ok with carrying him at the 9th spot.
  17. I think most posters here were pretty confident Kawasaki would at least have a good at bat and seeing as how the ump had bailed out Johnson and screwed DeRosa in the previous at bat, there was a good chance he'd draw a walk thus bringing up to bat Cabrera, who might be the guy most here would want in that spot.
  18. I thought Gose had a good game as well. Worked that walk in the 8th and was robbed of possibly a 3B by Jones. Melky working 2BB's was good to see. Gotta give kudos to JPA for his 3for4 game + the walk, let's hope he looks at this and says to himself 'hey, there's more to hitting than HR's'. Gotta get the pitching fixed, hopefully JJ will come back after one more start in Buffalo and join the team on the west coast IL trip. I think if JJ makes it back, it isn't so bad if Jenkins is the 5th starter with a quick hook.
  19. I freakin' hope not, he's at his lowest value. Keep and fix the guy, there's talent in there once you look past the RedBull. He'd probably go to another team and tear it up, like Hill.
  20. Maybe, but I think Delabar was hesitant to throw the splitter and tried to throw it for a strike and hung it to Wieters.
  21. Is it just me or is this Mark Devlin guy a HUGE improvement on Buck? His call on the Cabrera/Kawasaki throw home was right on. I'm still watching the games on mute, but having to listen to only 1 "expert" is much better than 2.
  22. He wanted his reebee. I've been waiting for Gibbons to put his foot down and I think it might've started yesterday with Arencibia not being used to ph late in the game. Lawrie's behaviour there not only shows a selfish attitude, but also a lack of understanding of game situations as that run meant nothing other than making it look a little closer.
