  1. Probably, but my issue with this trade is why do you have to give up Aviles and throw in Gomes for Esmil freakin' Rogers? Gomes is good enough to be Terry Francona's back up catcher with the Indians.
  2. The Happ trade is another one to add to the Rogers, Marlins and Dickey trades.
  3. Gomes hits a walkoff HR, his 2nd of the day! AA turning this franchise into a laughing stock
  4. I was afraid of Janssen struggling in a non save situation
  5. No doubt, but he's a natural CF and is used to taking charge, I don't think he's played LF in the minors much. Glad that worked out.
  6. I was shocked to see Dickey go out for the 8th, but it's time to show some guts Ace!
  7. There's a franchise player for you. Bautista on the other hand....ok, he can hit home runs and get mad at umps for strike calls.
  8. 2 outs nobody on and he gives up 2, way to go Dickey!
  9. Watch Odorizzi get into a groove and shut out the Jays the rest of the way and the Rays win 3-2.
  10. That run should be earned because it was Dickey who wanted Blanco catching him.
  11. Not that he'll be an allstar, but Yan Gomes is apparently good enough to be Carlos Santana's back up in Cleveland...would it really surprise anyone if he turned out to be a better defensive catcher than JPA? Why in the world do you have to give up not only Mike Aviles, but throw in Yan Gomes for Esmil Rogers? I'd LOL if it wasn't so sad.
  12. How about a quote by AA on Bonifacio being the key to the Marlins deal or something like that? Might be too long I guess
  13. Make it 2! Time to see him play against guys his age.
  14. I really think a big part of the reasoning for the callup is to have him work with CM. Another thing is giving Cabrera a breather late in games especially on the turf for the next 9 games.
  15. That would make sense and it would put his OBP around .360. The encouraging thing is his BB% and having your OBP .100 points over your BA is pretty decent in my book. If he comes out of his funk and raises his BA to around .250-.260 by season's end, I'd be very encouraged, not so much by the numers, but by his overcoming this slump.
  16. This is true and I was against giving up what they gave up. It just seemed AA didn't put up much of an argument to Alderson and negotiate much. He just accepted that Alderson wanted those 2 and gave in. I wouldn't have made the deal anyway. The same thing seemed to happen with the Florida trade, he didn't get a discount for Buehrle's contract although he did get 8M back, but then again, John Buck = 5M (?). Anyways...
  17. It doesn't seem to make sense to bring him up, but maybe they're trying to lift his spirits a bit? Maybe they want Mottola to work with him a bit? Maybe to get him out of the rut his in for a bit? I know I'm reaching here, just trying to make sense of it.
  18. Interesting insight into his struggles. I think they may have called him up in part to give him some support if he's this down and it might be a good idea to let him know that they're behind him and maybe working with Mottola for a bit may help him. I like the guy, he's still not 23 yet and he's improved his BB%, the strikeouts are the same as last year and I don't think he's a .220 hitter in AAA, I can see where it's gotten into his head. Not saying he's a .280 hitter in MLB either, but his defense and baserunning are a plus. Let's hope this callup does him some good.
  19. Oh, I'm with you. AA's just trying to maintain his ninja reputation. Hey, maybe Gose will surprise and provide a spark, here's hoping!
  20. No one guessed Gose would be called up
