  1. Melky to rest a couple of games or what? Maybe Rasmus' new hairdo was the last straw and they wanna light a fire under his behind? I guess they miss Rajai's speed
  2. 6-3 to me is the minimum they have to do to to have much of a chance. If they're truly gonna make a run, they'll have to start with this homestand and look at the 2 losses at NY as a bump on the road. They will also need to dominate at home the rest of the way, at least they've won 3 in a row at home now, so that's a good sign, they've also mashed in those 3 games, but I probably just jinxed them. This homestand will take them to June and if they do well, they could get JJ back and then it would only be 1 big hole in the starting rotation, of course, I'm assuming the big acquisitions don't continue stinking. On the other hand, this organization might be better off getting a top 5 draft pick, but knowing them, they'll blow it plus Rogers may never spend this much again if it fails so miserably.
  3. Should've taken him to his batting coach
  4. I was responding to someone asking why not use the 40-man spot for Negrych so I said forget about Negrych or anyone of the AAAA players because they were signed to help Buffalo compete, that's all, it's no big deal, but I don't talk out of orifices. No doubt AA wouldn't weaken the MLB club to make the AAA team better, I mean it's not like Thole is better than Blanco.
  5. I was having a bit of fun, but there is something to it, the following is from a piece by Ken Rosenthal: “It’s nice to have prospects, but the owner said, ‘We’re all about winning.’ And we gave them our word: We would do everything we could to give them as competitive a team as we can,” Anthopoulos says. The GM then cites first baseman Mauro Gomez, who the Jays claimed from the Red Sox on April 8, then sent to the minors. “He’s on waivers, and he was the International League MVP last year,” Anthopoulos says. “How can we look at the Bisons ownership and say, ‘We’re going to pass on the MVP?’ And obviously, he had big league time as well.”
  6. AA made a promise to the Buffalo team that he'd do what he could to put together a good team in Buffalo. With Ortiz and Storey up with the Jays, he's trying to replace them, McGowan will be there for 2 weeks and Stilson could be traded or promoted in place of Lincoln or something. Forget about Negrych, he along with Jimenez, Gomez and Langerhans were signed to help Buffalo compete.
  7. It's interesting that they've been moving him along levels quite aggressively. He played in Blue Field and Vancouver last year and got promoted to Lansing this year whereas the big 3 last year stayed in Lansing all season. Let's hope he continues to improve.
  8. Stroman's final line: 5IP, 4H, 1BB, 6K, 3GO/4FO, 89 pitches. Pretty good debut I'd say.
  9. Big contrast series coming up Rays, under whom struggling players thrive, vs Jays, where good players go bad.
  10. Well said. A big assumption was made by AA after the Marlins trade that this was now a contending team and that Dickey would push it over the top. I said at the time that it didn't make sense to go all in without knowing what team you had and that if you're going to overpay the way they did for an ace, you do it for a younger guy.
  11. AA tried to take a shortcut to the finish line, but instead it was a shortcut to nowhere. He did nothing in the 2011/12 offseason so he tried to make up for it by doing dumb things this past offseason, it ain't working out. The team needed starting pitching, but AA refused to address it via FA and instead did it by trading away a big chunk of the farm for risky and aging, expensive pitchers which is the complete opposite of what the plan was supposed to be.
  12. 4-5 or 5-4 is as good as this team can do at this point.
  13. It's been updated, it now shows Stroman starting for NH.
  14. This is what I'm hoping for, like I said before, it's not like Stroman's been injured and Walden's a prospect. I'm sure you're right.
  15. The supposed core of this team has also let it down. Bautista, Encarnacion, Lawrie, Rasmus, JPA, Morrow, RR have all let this team down. The thing is though, imagine how bad a shape the rotation would be in without Dickey and Buehrle who at least have taken the ball every 5th day? Not saying I was for the trades that brought them to the team, but the rotation was in horrible shape and the first starting pitcher name on AA's list was Josh Johnson who cannot be relied upon to anchor a staff. I think this tells us a lot about AA.
  16. With a good start, Dickey's ERA may come close to this, but not counting on it, young pitchers are inconsistent.
  17. I didn't like taking on Buehrle's contract from the get-go, at least AA should've given up 1 less prospect because of it, but oh well. Giving up D'Arnaud and Syndergaard was just nuts, well, more like dumb as s##t
  18. This team's starters have pitched like you would expect a bunch of youngsters, except they're old as heck and get paid like a bunch of money.
  19. I wish I could turn back the clock to undo all the damage AA did in the offseason.
  20. Yeah, with AA running this franchise, it wouldn't surprise me. It's not as if Stroman hasn't been throwing. It's not like Walden is a prospect. Anyway, this is AA's world.
  21. Then came the injury-riddled 2012 season and that was enough to make AA change course. Yes 2012 was a bad year, but instead of continuing with the plan, AA threw it all away completely. He could've tried to sign a a couple FA pitchers to help the rotation or given up what he did for younger pitchers. Too late now, we're all in....a f***ing hole!
  22. John Farrell, oh wait, it's players only...lol. When is someone in the media going to question AA about players like Hill and Johnson going to other teams and finding their strokes and if AA is embarrassed by it and what is he doing to make sure this problem is corrected? Anyway...
  23. I would fire him unless he makes amends by getting something good in return for JJ and Buehrle, DFAs Blanco, calls up Thole to platoon with JPA and a few other moves. I may still fire him though, gave up way too much for old, very expensive and risky players.
