  1. He went 4 innings and threw 68 pitches today.
  2. Johnson's day: 4IP, 1H, 0ER, 1BB, 3K, 6GO, 2FO, 68 pitches (38 strikes).
  3. We can all agree they aren't good with RISP, but it all starts with the pitching. I think last night was their first loss when scoring 5+ runs.
  4. I have no clue what R.A. Dickey is doing in this game. Gibbons seems to have a quick hook on guys pitching well and a long one on guys stinking it up. It doesn't matter anyway
  5. Dickey and Buehrle have not been good, but the Blue Jays' defense has been bad behind them as well. Buehrle, in particular, needs good defense behind him, but this is another flaw in AA's thinking.
  6. Thanks. I was worried given his history. With Santos out again, he and Stilson could prove very helpful.
  7. Did McGowan get injured last night? He only threw 10 pitches I think and was then replaced.
  8. I won't say who they should take. It's pretty simple for me, take the BPA. I don't care who it is, this pick HAS to turn out to be a good one as this is a very important draft. It would be great if whomever it is moves quickly through the system, but as long as they get a heck of a player, I'm fine with it. If it's a bust, I'll rip this FO.
  9. What's his IP limit? They've made a decision to let him start, let the process take its course. They have Stilson in AAA now as a reliever, who was also tried as a starter, but many people saw him as a reliever all the way and he may help. If McGowan actually stays healthy for a bit, that would be another bullpen option although I wouldn't count on it. If the guys in AAA/waiver wire could do a similar job for the spot start or 2, why the heck was Nolin brought up? Not to mention Jenkins hasn't pitched since he started in Boston and Ortiz is one of those AAA/waiver guys, it's just mind-boggling at this point.
  10. This lowers the chances he gets called up so that's a positive. I'd like Stroman to get 5-6 starts in AA and if he's doing well, send him to AAA for the rest of the season. Call him up in Sept only. I thought the same needed to be done with Nolin, but AA saw to that. I also think the same should be done with Hutchison once he's healthy. Think long term AA, you used to, but in the last 6 months have forgotten all about it for some reason.
  11. Is this his final rehab start? I ask because Gibbons was quoted saying he'd need 'at least' 3 rehab starts. Then again, he was supposed to only miss 1 start...lol. I won't believe he'll be back until he's back.
  12. Why should Arencibia change anything about his game when: the GM called him last offseason to assure him he wasn't going to be traded; the top catching prospect in the system is traded thus reassuring him that he's the man behind the plate; he hits cleanup or 5th in the lineup despite his horrible k/bb ratio?
  13. Haha, no, I just hope if they do come back that they come ALL the way back baby!
  14. Save the runs for tomorrow I say, don't freaking waste runs trying to come back from a 7-run deficit.
  15. Bringing up RR after 1 start in A ball was another dumb move. The guy stunk it up in ST, they demoted him so he could work on his new delivery in ExST. Then they deemed him ready after 1 start? I mean come on, who can respect this FO?
  16. I liked the fact he got ahead in the count at least in the 1st, but his pitches seemed to be up, maybe nerves.
  17. For sure, I was against the callup before and would still be against it if he had pitched well so him pitching badly doesn't change it either. Anyway...
  18. The issue isn't whether Nolin looked good or not. The issue, at least for me, was that he had made 6 starts at AA, 3 last year and 3 this year. He had also only made 3 starts this year because he was injured for the first month. I have no clue what the point of rushing him for this start was. Were they planning on keeping him as the 5th starter once JJ came back? If it was just for one start, it's even a worse decision. Anyway...
  19. I was against this move as were several others. AA makes the stupidest decisions you could make. When's the last time Jenkins pitched? He pitched well enough against Boston to warrant another start. Ortiz didn't pitch terribly against Boston, then pitched 7 innings against SF and then yes, he struggled against the Rays, but what is the point of rushing young guys like Nolin? He'd made 3 starts all year for goodness sake.
  20. Yeah, I know, retarded, just retarded.
  21. Does AA DFA the bow or the lo viste when Reyes gets back? I love Kawa's at bats, I do wonder if he could turn on a Mark Buehrle or Ortiz fastball though
  22. Oh, I was being sarcastic, this team is just not good enough, believing otherwise is setting oneself up for big headaches.
  23. How about a twitter campaign to get miss usa to get back with him?
  24. At least the division deficit didn't get bigger as the yankees and red sox lost....trying to amuse myself.
