  1. I have wondered since the opening series about ST. All I heard from Gibbons was how this was a good ball club and he would get out of the way. Well, I'm not a big guy on blaming managers or coaches, but it does make me wonder about the laid back attitude. This team was not ready for the season, don't see how anyone can refute this. It seems to me that if Farrell was the manager, we would be all over him, wouldn't we? Now, that doesn't mean that the criticism would've been warranted and that we should be all over Gibbons, like they say, 2 wrongs don't make a right. At the end of the day, AA made the decisions, including hiring an almost all rookie coaching staff.
  2. I actually like this guy, he provides some serious comic relief for me. Maybe, once enough trolls join, there should be a poll as to which ones to keep. Then again, it's probably 1 guy and his closet/basement bf with multiple accounts.
  3. If this is in fact the real Cabrera, then with an injured Reyes, you basically have last year's offense, but Bautista one year older and coming off an injury. EE starting off slowly. Minus KJ and Escobar and a bunch of 'what ifs'. You add and overmatched Buehrle, Dickey, JJ and an always inconsistent Morrow and you have Houston Astros' type production. Bad, bad team.
  4. If the guys that replace DeRosa, Blanco and Boni or whomever is replace, provide a spark, it would also give some of the starters like Rasmus, Cabrera and Lind a little push because Gibbons would have the option of sitting one of them for a game or 2 to give more playing time to the bench guys providing a spark. Nothing to lose, if the new guys struggle, so what, they won't be worse than the guys they replace and if they start off hot, you get a spark that could help you win some ball games.
  5. I haven't heard of any injuries to Lind. On this team, the guy who walks sits.
  6. Thanks for the welcome thread, looking forward to reading serious talk about what the Blue Jays and baseball in general as well as participating.
  7. Agreed, but I would add DeRosa and one of Bonifacio/Izturis. Bring up Thole, Sierra and Negrych. Thole would provide a lefty singles and on base guy off the bench who CAUGHT Dickey during his CY season, give him 2/5 games for all I care. Sierra would give Gibbons a better righty ph bat that could also be Linds platoon partner, even fill in for Cabrera. And Negrych obviously would be a hail mary attempt at getting something, anything out of 2B, what have they got to lose? Some would say AA doesn't want to look desperate, well, the offseason trades were pretty desperate if you asked me.
