  1. Boy NH getting some revenge on Erie for that 16 to something blowout yesterday, it's 14-0 in the bottom of the 4th for NH already. Stroman looking good. Aside from 1 awful start, he's been fine in AA. With Stroman, Nolin and Hutchison next season's depth looks ok although a lot can go wrong between now and then.
  2. Do you think any team in the east is 20-games-over-.500 good? I get the feeling the division winner may end up between 10-15 games over.
  3. Makes sense on Pillar because of Gose in Buffalo. I really want to see Burns in AA for the 2nd half or a good chunk of it. I was checking what Marisnick did last year before his promotion to NH and going by that, Burns might soon get the promotion. Anyway, we'll see what happens.
  4. It would be awesome if he continued his hot start with the bat and create some buzz around him. It might make JPA hear some footsteps. Then again he might be traded for a middle reliever, lol.
  5. Oh no problem with that. Anyway wrong thread for this.
  6. I said maybe and also said him+. I don't think it's likely, but I do think the blue jays will have to trade some of the bullpen arms they have with the guys coming back off the 60-day dl.
  7. Sell high I say, maybe there's a GM willing to give up a good young position player for him or him +, you do it.
  8. Maybe they'll promote Pillar after the EL ASG? Jimenez off to a good start in AA, boy if he he hadn't suffered that injury last year, he would've played a full year at AA and might be playing at AAA this year. Anyway, at least he's back playing. I hope Andy Burns gets promoted to AA soon, Marisnick got promoted last year after about 310 PA's and Burns is approaching 300 PA's.
  9. Get him working with Sanchez right away to help him with that "minor" shoulder muscle problem that's kept him out for a month.
  10. Oh and they won't do a rebuild, the owners and president decided after the increase in attendance and interest last year that they'd ditch the long term building they had embarked on in favor of a 3-year window at least in their head. It's their team after all.
  11. As we all know, it all starts with the starting pitching. They've pitched well the last few games thus they've won 4 in a row. I don't think anyone's saying they're out of the woods by any means. I for one, have declared the season to be over for about 2-3 weeks and as a result have gotten over the frustration and disappointment of being wrong about the team and I'm enjoying the games quite a bit more than when they were losing. If they actually get back to .500 by or before the ASG, they may have a chance to go over .500 by a few games right after with a 10 game homestand. I'd be happy with meaningful games in August and September at this point.
  12. His defense is and will be missed, but if the team continues to pitch well and climb towards .500 and with Reyes back, his defense will be missed a lot less. Hopefully, this would make him realize that it's not his team and he wasn't playing that well. A few trade rumors swirling around wouldn't hurt either as I think it would also help to make him realize he needs to change a few things to fulfill the potential he showed in the past.
  13. Same here, if they can get to .500 by the ASG, they have a homestand right after that could give them a chance to put them in a position to have meaningful games in August/September. I'd be happy with that.
  14. Today is probably a loss, but then they need a 4-2 homestand to keep the momentum going into the Tampa, Boston roadtrip. If rehabs go well, both Reyes and Morrow should rejoin the team in the middle of the road trip. Not getting excited though, just glad they're pitching better, especially Buehrle, hoping for JJ to get it going to show teams he's healthy and maybe someone can offer a good young player close to the majors.
  15. Well, it does feel good when the shoe is on the other foot, doesn't it? Freakin' Jays made a few teams look better than they are in April, kind of fitting that they catch a team like Texas in a big slump.
  16. Not to mention the drama of chasing a playoff spot in September. At this point, meaningful games in September would be amazing given the April they had.
  17. lol, this team probably sold its soul to the devil in return for winning in '92 & '93. The going rate for souls in the early '90's was around 50 years of suckitude, so 30 more to go.
  18. They'd have to throw in Romo so we could see a rematch of the Canada-Mexico WBC title bout.
  19. Get back to .500 and things will look much better. I'm still sticking to my reverse jinx, season's over bros!
  20. Doesn't St Louis have a ton of starting pitching? Why would they give up Kolten Wong for JJ? I think I read somewhere that SF might be looking for a starter, maybe AA can get the next Zach Wheeler out of them...lol.
  21. I'd like to think that this time the team will use the excuse of his being injured to let him rehab for a good stretch. Hopefully the team continues to climb towards .500 and they don't feel the need to rush him like they did earlier in the year with him and Romero.
  22. They have a surplus of relievers, maybe AA can find a Rasmus type deal for a 2b and include Bonifacio or Izturis in it. I'd rather they keep Kawasaki and Izturis, but I don't think they'll want to lose any of the 3 for nothing so the guy that has options goes down in all likelihood.
  23. Zaun praised the trades when they were made. I heard him compare JPA to Mike Piazza. I could see JJ or Buehrle being traded if a team offers something good, but Buehrle's contract makes him hard to move although the Blue Jays did get 8M from the Marlins if I remember correctly. I could see AA trading a couple of BP arms, hopefully for a young 2B.
