  1. Not to mention Carreno and Stilson in Buffalo, pen is certainly looking good.
  2. I agree with trading Oliver, 4 lh relievers is quite the luxury and at least 2 of them can face righties as well. Short term the best move might be to option Loup since he has options to avoid losing any of the guys without options. We're almost in July so trade activity should pick up soon. Then again, AA might deem Oliver's vetrin presence too valuable to trade for some career minor leaguer and may just get rid of Perez.
  3. Let's not forget Izturis. He led off and got on base 3 times and it seems his luck on offense is evening out.
  4. You just described a stacked bullpen, at least it seems this way for now. I really think Wagner and Perez have really solidified this pen, especially Wagner.
  5. I'm hoping that they give him a couple of days off a week in favor of EE/DeRosa/Izturis when he's back to remind him that the team has other options and he needs to play better, not talk better. It may also be beneficial to just watch the game, relax a bit and dial down his energy....ok, that's wishful thinking.
  6. Tigers will play at the RC July 1-4, how about beating Leyland's team 3 of 4 to get his attention?
  7. You're right, I think that the fact that Kawasaki can be optioned makes the decision easier. In the meantime, I really think that Cabrera needs to be DL'ed. we'll have to wait and see.
  8. Agreed. I've said this before, I wouldn't mind Kawasaki at 2B with Reyes at SS. I would think he'd be a good defensive 2B and I believe his quality AB's cannot be properly quantified by his stats. I think someone mentioned a while back that he was amongst the leaders in pitches per at bat.
  9. He forgot a couple more things: 1. Stroman pitched another good game and threw 93 pitches. 2. Blue Jays drafted Brenden Kalfus.
  10. No stinkin' 9-gamer's gonna make me change my mind, season's over bros! Sell at the deadline and rebuild for 2022
  11. Thing is, Reyes' return doesn't have to be the end of the Kawasaki era. I believe a Kawasaki/Izturis 2B platoon is better than a Bonifacio/Izturis platoon. Kawasaki could also be kept around longer by DL'ing Cabrera upon Reyes' return as Bonifacio can play the outfield. I have to say that Cabrera really looks hurt, not only running/fielding, but hitting. He really can't generate as much batspeed and power with the gimp legs.
  12. Man if Sanchez hadn't missed a month he might've been making the case for a promotion, oh well.
  13. Great to see Burns promoted, well earned. Looking forward to following his and Jimenez's progress in NH.
  14. Win the series, can't expect to sweep every series, just win the series and play .500 on the next roadtrip or go 3 and 4 and come back home and continue to win at home. If they do better on the road, then even better. Just enjoy the games and stop jinxing the team...season's over for me!
  15. I'm also pretty sure it's 10. 3 against Cleveland, 3 against Detroit and he got hurt on the 1st game against the Royals.
  16. There are 6 games before they face Boston. I want to see this team go a few games above .500 before I consider a division race realistic. Boston is 13 games over .500 and Baltimore around 10 above.
  17. Some of us are getting a little too excited. Blue Jays are playing well, but don't expect them to catch the Red Sox by next weekend, that's insane.
  18. Thanks, looking forward to following him at NH, he may be an option to move to 2B.
  19. I suspect Burns will be promoted to AA after the Florida State League ASG?
  20. I think what a lot of us want to see is a healthy Cabrera unless this is the real one. All reports indicate that he's dealing with leg problems, I think it would be a good idea to put him on the DL about a week from the ASG to take advantage of the break. I also think he's overweight, but I hope it's mostly leg issues.
  21. It was very optimistic to think he'd be activated for Friday against the O's. I think it's a good decision to activate him on the road as he might feel a bit of pressure being activated at home. I also thought they might not want to activate him at home because of the hard surface, but he may end up being activated at TB, so that's out the window.
  22. No surprise if the rumors are true. This also explains why his velocity was up and down earlier in the year and his overall suckage. Sometimes injuries are there, but take a while to fully flare up. At least Dickey, JJ and Buehrle are still standing and Happ is starting to throw again. We'll see what happens.
