Annoyingly good re-tool of the pitching staff by Min. Cueto/Samardzija/Odorizzi/Paxton is a nice group before getting into the geriatrics. Kuroda and Dickey have expired and he hasn't really missed a beat.

I don't see this as a big win for gibbers. Odorizzi is good, and Bailey is broken.

It's unbelievable that this has been allowed to go as far as it has. You can't have a starter this bad in your rotation. He's walking 7/9, and projections think he's going to maintain a rate over 5. He has a below-average K-rate. His continued presence on this team is bordering on unprofessional.

Just getting home now, and see that Sanchez had another banner night. The team can't let him continue. Guy is walking almost 7 per 9, and striking out less than 6. Letting him keep starting might be the most egregious decision we've ever seen them make.

It's not even about stats. It's about common sense. On one hand you have a MLB-ready arm who tore through the minors, has the stuff to back up the results, and has nothing in the way of red flags. On the other you have a guy who, while very talented in his own right, is coming off a major injury and has never thrown a pro pitch. The only reason for picking Hoffman is that you like the Blue Jays and can't be objective.
