  1. Indians would be a f***ing scary playoff opponent. Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar, Kluber, Carrasco in a 5-game ALDS.
  2. For one: everyone, you included, lost their s*** when FTD lost a player in the LOD because he wasn't paying attention to minor league roster management.
  3. I fail to see why I should care about this.
  4. Jesus. That's brutal.
  5. If true, Matt Williams is an epic beta. No wonder the Nats suck.
  6. Nope. Not that it really matters.
  7. I don't get it. What's the issue with an update when a player exceeds his minor-league eligibility threshold? Why would I delete the post?
  8. Guys, it might be the beer, but I've agreed with 100% of Jimcanuck's posts ITT.
  9. Well they are the second oldest team in baseball (by a hair). Attrition has to claim someone eventually. They've been remarkably fortunate with guys like Bautista, Edwin, Buehrle and Dickey not missing a beat into their mid/late 30s.
  10. Jays should be a clear favourite for the AL East in 2016. Things start to look a bit dicey by 2017 as the roster is currently constructed.
  11. I don't think Goins really factors in to the equation. He looks like a perfect bench IF, which is more than I ever thought he'd become. Good organizations don't put players in roles that demand absolutely every last ounce of their talent. Penciling Goins into an everyday role means he's going to be hard pressed to be close to average at it. I think you put him on the bench, and then think about planning on him as a starter when he absolutely kicks the door down. I think the only question that will matter re: Tulo is "Is he going to be worth his contract over the next five years?". If he comes out of the gate with a league average bat through 2-3 months next year, the answer to that question is "probably not" and you think about moving him while you can. If he comes in and looks like vintage Tulo you keep him and enjoy the MVP production. I doubt Goins moves the needle on that kind of decision at all. He'd have to look like a league-average hitter for that to be the case IMO.
  12. Is anyone under the age of, like, 25 not a SJW?
  13. He's been so bad lol .
  14. Another fine outing for Tanaka in the middle of a playoff hunt. Has anyone in the New York media come out and said they were wrong when they were piling up on him in March and April?
  15. jaysblue: Robbie Ray has to be on your 20-man roster by the February cutdown or he'll be available in the waiver draft. I don't see any other prospects in danger of hitting the threshold.
  16. Wo, huge price for a backup.
  17. I was against giving up assets for him, but I'm pretty sure my comment at the time was that Buehrle would be the biggest addition of the three principal Miami pieces. I've always loved Papa Buehrle.
  18. Buehrle earned every penny he was paid.
  19. Oakland has an affiliate in Baltimore?
  20. No, you're not following the conversation.
  21. You're AA. It's July 2016. You're evaluating what kind of value Troy Tulowitzki's contract holds to the team relative to what his projected performance is... And Jose Reyes figures into that discussion?
  22. All I'm asking is basic reading comprehension and common sense. If you can't understand that Reyes is completely irrelevant in a discussion about the asset value of Troy Tulowitzki's contract in 2016, you shouldn't be posting here.
  23. Do we know his offensive performance has nothing to do with the a use his body has taken though? Present day Tulo is the product of his history, and that's in his history. He could very well rebound and be fine, but I'm really not keen on making $100M commitments to players on their 30s, especially with a long injury history. Those deals just end badly too often.
  24. Holy f***. I'm talking about the value of the contract in 2016 and beyond, not evaluating the decision made to acquire it. Those are two distinct discussions.
