  1. No, that's just your interpretation, which you're entitled to. Most people see it as being the pitcher who's contributions in 2015 were the most valuable. IP matters in that context.
  2. You're being disingenuous by talking about his career numbers. Obviously his skill set changed significantly last year. And why the f*** are you talking about projections and who you trust going forward?
  3. All else being equal (ERA, IP) I'd much prefer to look at xFIP than FIP to see who was really better. If you're going to look at DIPS, why not try to remove HR/FB luck from the equation?
  4. Yeah, pretty much. It's well documented that HR/FB is basically just luck over a sample of one season.
  5. I don't get it. Keuchel's xFIP is within a tenth of a run of either of theirs, and there are pretty good reasons to believe beating DIPS is a skill of his. He also has huge IP leads on either of them.
  6. Price has a 1-point lead in ERA-, Keuchel has a 13-point lead in xFIP-. Nobody should care about FIP. Keuchel also has a small edge in IP. Objectively, he's had the better year. If he wins 20 and the Astros make it I think it's his.
  7. Keuchel has been doing it all year too though. Houston is currently in a WC spot and without him they're well under 0.500 and have been out of the race for a long time.
  8. Anyone have a top-100 prospect on the table for super elite 35 hold guy Sergio Romo?
  9. I dunno, a lineup with Correa, Gomez, Altuve and Springer is capable of winning a 7-game series against anyone. Especially if Dallas Keuchel starts 2-3 of them.
  10. I actually think the Astros could be pretty dangerous in the playoffs. Legit ace in Keuchel, followed by McHugh, Kazmir, and McCullers. Pretty deep pen, albeit one without an elite arm. And their lineup should be 9 deep, with enough talent to explode in any given game. I like them more than KC and LA.
  11. Congrats silvergun. Your team this year was probably the best we've seen in the DDL so far, from top to bottom.
  12. I think there's still a decent chance the voters choose Price, though it will probably be Keuchel. If Keuchel wins his next start to get to 20 it's over.
  13. Baez is awful.
  14. He's putting on a clinic. Unbelievable.
  15. Yeah. Possibly Soler too if he can figure things out.
  16. OMG Arrieta
  17. Man, the Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Arrieta, Lester core is ridiculous.
  18. Yeah. FIP counts HRs and xFIP counts GB rate.
  19. I'm sure they would have decided to win today if they knew what the standings looked like.

  21. What was the trade again? Floyd, Sabathia, and some other shitbag for DeGrom?
  22. I'm so happy that awful team is fading back to irrelevancy. No Davis or Chen next year either.
  23. It could matter if he gets to 20, because Price won't.
