  1. A bit surprised this hasn't been made official. I'm assuming both parties want it done before 5PM today.
  2. Someone made the mistake of starting a thread about Estrada being close to a 2-year extension in case people weren't checking on on the week-old thread about the merits of his QO.
  3. In that case, please carry on.
  4. s***. Sounds serious. My butthole puckered a bit. I'll keep it to Estrada talk.
  5. So now we get to spend forevermore discussing s*** packages we can send them for Freeman?
  6. If I want to post about the effect Estrada's signing will have on our ability to sign other pitchers will it stay here or be moved to Around Baseball or the Offseason Roster Thread.?
  7. I have no idea. JBJ, Rodriguez, and a couple of guys from the farm?
  8. He's signed for 6 more years, ages 26-31.
  9. I think he'd get a lot more than that entering the market at 26 years old. Probably 200+ million from Boston.
  10. A ton. I really hate when that gets brought up as an excuse for discussion about the merits of sending our spare parts away for an elite player.
  11. You don't think Boston or St. Louis would be all over Freddie Freeman? 26-year old franchise 1B locked up for 6 more years.
  12. Atlanta would certainly take a prospect package for Freddie Freeman? And Alford, Pompey, and Sanchez is going to be the best they get offered? Teams like Boston, St. Louis, and Washington would be willing to sell the farm for a guy like that.
  13. I've mentioned him in deals for Carlos Carrasco and Freddie Freeman, two of the top 30 or 40 most valuable assets in the game. The farm isn't exactly flush with the kind of talent that can be packaged for players like that.
  14. Why wasn't his account perma-banned for that?
  15. Luring Burnett out of retirement would be amazing.
  16. I think a discussion that starts with "well, Atlanta just made a terrible move so what package of s*** can we offer for their franchise player?" is kind of silly. I'm sure they have no interest whatsoever in a 32-year old DH. In a sane world, a trade for Freeman starts with Stroman.
  17. I'd be shocked if the two of them didn't talk on a daily basis. Shapiro probably has a good idea about everything LaCava is working on over the course of a day.
  18. They're really only the same in name only.
  19. Who you thinking? Rasmus, Estrada, Gallardo and Anderson were the guys I thought had a chance to accept. Looks like Gallardo is getting plenty of attention and will probably decline.
  20. I think they would have preferred that he walk and give them the pick. Springer in RF, Gomez in CF, and and a Tucker/Marisnick platoon in the last spot. A 5th OF would be needed, and Rasmus certainly helps, but this can't be the optimal way to spend 16M of their budget.
  21. Such a crazy price to pay for a guy they're going to platoon.
  22. The Braves roster is so bad. Freeman, Miller, and a bunch of garbage.
  23. Didn't they want Harvey or deGrom?
