  1. Open to moving Puig for an OF or 1B that can help me this year. Willing to add depending on the player.
  2. Yeah, you're right. It's the 14th/15th in every other league I'm in. The 28th is really late. Have we ever had the deadline in late August?
  3. Deadline tomorrow. No contender wants to add closer Jim Johnson? Guy has 8 holds, 10 saves since becoming closer, a 3.36 xFIP, and a 3.52 ERA.
  4. If KingFiller could actually win a week and stop this epic choke job it would be fantastic.
  5. To be fair, it's probably more valid in a 20-team league than 30. You can rebuild a lot faster.
  6. Your BBDL champ is an embarrassment to fantasy baseball.
  7. At least we finally no the answer ton the age-old question: an emphatic "NO".
  8. I doubt that anyone here looks at one number. I assume most open up a player page and mentally assign weights to various different numbers to get a feel for how a given pitcher is performing. Gut feel, vetrin presents, years of experience and all that. Scout dat fangraphs page.
  9. As long as Bret Sayre is a redundancy I'm fully on board.
  10. I kind of hope Boxy's lead holds. I'd enjoy Cyborg missing the playoffs.
  11. Yes, but I'm not sure what that quote has to do with it.
  12. Dinger has his foot on SpeedyMin's jugular right now. If this lead holds they're probably finished.
  13. Jason Grilli + 6th round MiLB to TCA for his 2nd round MiLB.
  14. Yeah, we've definitely been pulled back from the days of thinking pitchers only control BB, K, and HR rates. But it seems like there are more ERA-DIPS outliers this year than I ever remember there being before.
  15. He is a truly awful MLB player for sure.
  16. The year xFIP lied.
  17. Yeah, that's actually possible. I'm not really inclined to cut anyone from my farm for a relief prospect though. And I'm not sure Montas has the breaking ball to be truly elite.
  18. What a weird year. That's a lot of low ERAs with high xFIPs. I think I'd vote for Kluber if I had one. I could also be persuaded to vote for Britton.
  19. Trade deadline is fast approaching, and I have a few pieces to sell off: Evan Gattis Howie Kendrick Luis Valbuena Jason Grilli Jim Johnson (closer) Kevin Siegrist Pick upgrades for the relievers and a SP for the bats would be ideal. I'd take on an injured starter.
  20. Team ERA is 3.76 with a 3.96 xFIP, which is a normal discrepancy. I buy Dickey (knuckleballer) and Estrada (elite changeup, high fastball that yields flies in the 'donut hole') as xFIP beaters, though not Estrada to the extent that he has. Two of probably fewer than 10 guys in the league I'd be comfortable making that claim for (Odorizzi, Wright, Ziegler, Clippard etc...). Would have said Keuchel last year too because of his defense, but contact has been harder against him this year. I haven't seen compelling evidence that Happ should be expected to beat his xFIP going forward.
  21. It's too bad for him that they're going with a 6-man rotation. Would be fun to see him get 33-34 starts and possibly get to 22-23 wins.
