  1. Every reason to believe he'll settle in as a reliable ~3.5 ERA guy, which is absolutely fine. As long as his back stays healthy.
  2. No. He's probably going to beat his FIP, but he's not going to beat it by two runs or whatever he was beating it by earlier. He's good, but not 3.0 ERA good.
  3. It kind of feels like Scherzer will be throwing 200 innings long after Syndergaard's arm explodes.
  4. Yeah. I've shifted my philosophy on pitchers towards targeting reliable guys with almost no regard for age, and then riding them until their arms explode. A Stroman or Sanchez isn't a more attractive asset than a Lester IMO.
  5. Correct. I first posted that I'd like to move him on August 11th. I got zero inquiries.
  6. People put too much stock in pitcher's age. Expecting even a young horse to still be productive in 4-5 years is a big stretch, and it's not like EE is going to call it quits soon.
  7. If someone offered me that in BORED I'd accept without thinking twice.
  8. Please don't. I wanted Syndergaard so bad with the pick I used on Cole.
  9. He's definitely a keeper. Playing time is the only real thing between him providing 30 homers and 75 RBI from the C position next year. That's huge in a league where legit contenders are starting guys like Nick Hundley and Yadi Molina.
  10. Gerrit Cole... isn't very good.
  11. Surprised you were the only team in on him. Just hit 20-HR, and that's after missing time and then starting very slow after coming back.
  12. Looks like I got in on Triggs in both leagues 12 hours before his FG article.
  13. Vizcaino got hurt, Johnson took the job and played well. Vizcaino is back and not pitching well, so Johnson keeps it. No chance Johnson retains the job into next year though IMO. Purely a save play for contenders this year. Also, he's been traded to njh: my 4 and 5 waiver picks for his two 3s.
  14. Another save last night for Jim Johnson. He's not giving up the closer spot this season.
  15. I would have been inclined to think that this would hurt defensive performance, but they might set the record for lowest team BABIP this year.
  16. Man, my roster is a mess. Available: Victor Martinez (SP or top prospect) Howie Kendrick (SP) Jim Johnson (MiLB or waiver pick) Derek Dietrich (MiLB or waiver pick) Tommy Pham (MiLB or waiver pick) Kevin Siegrist (MiLB or waiver pick)
  17. I'd also look at moving V-Mart for either a SP or a top-25 caliber prospect.
  18. BTW, would still like to move Gattis, Jim Johnson, and possibly Howie Kendrick by the deadline.
  19. Odds that SG trades Ramos for an ace to make room for Sanchez, and then laughs as Ramos suffers the regular catcher fate next year and gets dropped to the FA pool by August? Has to be > 50%.
  20. I was thinking that the other day. Unfortunately, his org. is still loaded, and a sheet metal-related automobile accident might be the only chance anyone has at the MC Division for the foreseeable future.
  21. Dynasty, I take Harper. I thought he question was MLB though. If so, I'll take the elite 3B defender (and possibly elite SS defender) over the bat-only corner OF who hasn't even hit that well this year.
  22. Easily Machado for me at this point in time.
