Yeah. I think that eventually he's going to completely tank, and I'm really hoping that one of the other three people still in it are able to take the title. That's not a knock on him personally - when he gets better at this I'd have no problem with him winning, but this would be the most underwhelming league champion in any forum league I've played in.

Boxy, why are you still rostering Tyler White? Hasn't the ship sailed on him becoming a 2017 keeper candidate? I say this out of concern that Frenchsoup will become the inaugural BORED champion.

I hate this year's Orioles so much. They can defend. They can't run. Their rotation features plugs like Gallardo, Jimenez, and Miley. Their success doesn't really make sense, but they've been good for 4 years now and I think you have to acknowledge that Buck Showalter does a fantastic job managing the team, and Dan Duquette does good work by the only evaluation criteria that actually matter, even if we don't really understand how/why it's effective.

Huh? Synder was traded for the reigning NL CY winner. Schimpf was literally let go for nothing, and Gomes was traded as the 2nd piece in a deal for Esmil Rogers. I don't even know how to respond to what you've posted.

Kind of hard to credit the team for developing players that they didn't actually think were good.

I don't think that doubling down on a guy who gets all of his value from outfield defense is a good idea. These guys don't usually age well. It's one thing to hold on to Pillar until his legs start to go, but trading a Sanchez or Stroman for another Pillar so we can park him in the corner OF is probably not the best use of resources.

I'd say his FA track record was mixed. Sandoval and Ramirez aren't great, and Castillo is a bust. But prior to their WS title he signed Ross, Uehara, Victorino, Napoli, Dempster, Gomes etc... to smart short term deals and they made all the difference. Not sure why he got away from that type of move in favour of the splashy high-risk signing, especially after having so much success with the smaller deal.
