    So Connor McDavid - who just led the league in scoring, dominated all advanced metrics, and is clearly the best hockey player in the world - is not even a finalist for League MVP? The NHL somehow manages to get absolutely everything wrong. What a terrible league.

    Not sarcasm. I obviously knew that all of these guys had improved, but I didn't know that their spin rates had all improved. I was under the impression that spin rate was one of the toughest things for a pitcher to improve.

    Interesting. I didn't realize that improved spin was contributing to all of these guys suddenly becoming aces in Houston.

    What Justin Verlander is doing this year is amazing. It looked like his elite days were behind him in 2014-2015, but he's been a super-elite ace since being traded to Houston. He just looks completely dominant almost every time out.

    I've dropped Keon Broxton and admitted defeat on my trade with Dinger before the 2017 season. I got absolutely nothing from Broxton or Kazmir, and Dinger has enjoyed solid SP4 production from Gio, and possibly also a breakout relief season from Gsellman. FU Dinger
