If it is as bad as the rumours, wouldn't multiple years of jail be on the table? I'd expect someone to be jailed for a significant amount of time if they punched their spouse a few times then threw her down a flight of stairs, but I have no idea what the precedent is.

She's right in saying that the language of the team's release was different than what we usually see. I don't buy into her framing this as the Blue Jays being aware of the false allegation statistics she cites - it seems far more likely that the language of the report was chosen based on the specifics of the situation. All the evidence so far suggests that the team believes that he did do something bad.
