  1. lol, this is amazing
  2. You can get a replacement level player with a terrible bat and good defense and baserunning whenever you want one. A guy like that with no options doesn't have any value.
  3. Two of those guys have been here one year. The other has been here a month.
  4. Alford is 25 and has been abysmal at AAA. I have zero issues whatsoever with the team giving more PAs to a guy 2 years older than him who has outperformed him at AAA the last two years. They're both non-prospects.
  5. I get why someone's FG% would decline as they lose athleticism. Just seems like FT% should remain static. Just looking at Tim Duncan's career now and he's all over the place year to year.
  6. It's probably because Davis is better than Alford.
  7. I don't really know anything about basketball, and one of the things that has surprised me the most over the last week is the variance in FT% year over year. What would cause someone like Westbrook to go from 85% to 74% 66% over a 3-year stretch? Is that likely to go back up? I noticed Gobert had a 57% season in between a bunch of years at 62% or higher. It's a skill that's completely isolated from the rest of the game, and I would have expected year over year results to be a lot stickier than they are.
  8. I took Russell Westbrook.
  9. I need Gerrit Cole to do his usual thing today. It would also help if Beeks or Maeda made extended relief appeances. Neither have pitched in 5+ days. There’s also a chance Yarbrough gets in for you. He’s slated to start Tuesday, but hasn’t started since Monday and seems like an ideal long guy after Glasnow goes a couple innings.
  10. I had it to on good authority that he was an elite SP/RP.
  11. Wow elite SP/RP John Gant has been dropped.
  12. Took Trae Young
  13. I know I complain about this every year, but Yahoo only letting you IL players on the actual MLB IL doesn’t work when MLB teams don’t use the IL in September. So playoff teams in keeper leagues are stuck punting roster spots on injured players. The get it right with the NHL, when even day-to-day players can be IR’d. What a terrible service.
  14. I probably shouldn't have started noted shitbag Spencer Turnbull tonight.
  15. You got ridiculed for predicting that a mixture of very talented rookies and replacement level trash would struggle offensively and thinking it was worth starting a thread over.
  16. This has been an absolute embarrassment.
  17. I took Nikola Jokic
  18. I don't care when we start.
  19. There are a ton of names available that they should be in on: Bumgarner Cole Gibson Hill Keuchel Odorizzi Porcello Roark Ryu Strasburg Wacha Wheeler Wood Are all at least a bit interesting. There's also no reason why we should accept them not being in on Cole or Strasburg. They might not want to sign here, which is one thing, but with the current payroll space and roster composition, there should be a 200+M contract offer to Gerrit Cole.
  20. So 12 teams x 14-man rosters. 168 total players drafted isn't too bad.
  21. I think moves have to be made to improve the team this offseason. If Atkins is unable to add wins this offseason and the team loses 95-100 games again next year, Shapiro should fire him. The rotation in particular needs to be addressed, and not with a bunch of Clay Buchholz and Clayton Richardses. Give the young positional core a shot at wild card contention if a bunch of them push in 2020.
  22. I joined, even though I probably can’t name 20 players.
  23. It’s decision time on a few of the shitbags we’ve been carrying. Travis, Drury, and Maile are optionable but too expensive to keep in AAA, and Urena and Alford are cheap but out of options. Some of these guys have got to go, but I’m guessing a Travis non-tender and Urena DFA are the most likely. Urena in particular has got to go. An out of options Urena is utterly worthless.
  24. Not sure who has to be added to the 40-man this offseason. I'm guessing Law, Boshers, Travis, Maile, and possibly Drury are non-tendered to clear space.
