    I don't really understand what you think you're contributing. Everyone here knows what Ray is: a starter with good stuff who has been good in the past and one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year. They're taking a flier on guy hoping to catch lightning in a bottle. They gave up next to nothing for him. It might work. It probably won't. Pointing out that he's been bad isn't interesting - we all know. Whining that you prefer Clevinger isn't interesting - we don't care.

    Came in here to post that it reminds me of the Liriano acquisition. I wonder what role they have in mind? He's an absolute dumpster fire right now, and there isn't much time to get him right.

    The Angels have 3 pieces in place for their 2020 rotation: Bundy, Heaney, and Canning should all be viable starters next year. They'll also have Ohtani, ostensibly. They're one addition away from not having a terrible group: Bauer/Stroman/trade acquisition Ohtani Bundy Heaney Canning Sandoval/Suarez/Barria/Andriese That's not a bad group. Especially when you have Trout, Rendon, and to a lesser extent Fletcher and Ohtani (DH) already in place.

    Teams 5 and 11 in the standings are separated by 5.5 games. Gonna be a wild finish. Abom is first in the power rankings and is going to miss the playoffs. FTD is 2nd and is probably going to miss the playoffs.

    Did he forget that he had Vogelbach on the bench? There were two clear opportunities to use him in the 9th: 1.Panik's AB Panik lead of the inning, and can't hit. Vogelbach could have been brought in to get on base, then been lifted for Espinal if he was successful. 2.McGuire's AB Let Vogelbach hit for Reese instead of dropping a stupid sac bunt. If the game goes to the 12th, bring Jansen in to catch.

    I remember questions about velo popping up every March/April over the years. He always settled in as the summer went on. I wouldn't be that surprised if he's back to 97-98 by May of 2021. I'm guessing I'll look dumb in a year for trading him for Petit.

    I don't think he's low-upside. Relievers often take two years to make it all the way back from serious injury. Like that sack of s*** Trevor Rosenthal who did horrible, unspeakable things to my ratios last year.

    I'm very eager to see if the worst owner in baseball fires one of the worst GMs in baseball for publicly disparaging the worst commissioner in pro sports. MLB House of Cards, but everyone is very stupid.
