We're all frustrated with Vlad, but I think people sometimes forget how special a talent he is. He's 21 and has 600 PA of league average production in the majors. He has a career 9% walk rate, and 17% K rate, and he hits the s*** out of the ball. This skill set could remain static for the next 3 years, and I'd still be expecting 25-year old Vlad to make the right adjustments and turn into an absolute monster offensively. He has demonstrated very rare and very valuable skills at the highest level at the age of 21. He's going to become an offensive force.

I've been watching baseball for like 25 years and had no idea it was forbidden to swing 3-0 with a big lead. Baseball needs more latinos to keep raging against the machine.

I wonder how this plays out. Cleveland is a playoff team, and Clev and Plesac are critical pieces. Holding them out isn't productive.

I'm hoping it comes out that Alford was hurt or something, because if he wasn't whoever chose to replace him defensively with Gurriel needs to be fired. Ross Atkins should have called Montoyo to his office after the game and demanded an explanation, but he probably didn't. -
Nothing like watching Vlad's fat ass take a leisurely stroll down to 1st on a GB to cap off the team's second loss of the day.

Brantley hasn't played in a few days and was just IL'd, and Bauer hasn't started this week because of the Reds covid case.

I don't have a kid, but I can't see myself choosing to spend a few extra weeks with my 4-month old over chasing a title that would likely cement my HoF status in the sport I played.

Tuuka Rask is opting out. I can't imagine being 33 and opting to sit out the playoffs over covid when you're a key part of a championship caliber team.

Unless I'm missing something, the last regular season scoring period in this league is set up to be the week of September 7-13, but we don't actually have anything scheduled. If we start our planned 4-team playoff that week we won't use the last week of the regular season. As things stand we have 3 playoff weeks reserved for a 4-team playoff. If we start the playoffs that week, we could still get an 8-team playoffs in.

If this were a normal season Vlad would have earned a trip to AAA. He's been terrible at everything.

OF is 10 appearances anywhere in the OF, so 5 in LF and 5 in RF would do it. CF is 10 in CF specifically.

Yeah. Tellez has a better offensive projection than Panik, but he's so bad that the difference isn't even that big and there might be something about the matchup with Hernandez that would swing things in favour of Panik by a hair. And the other guys sitting are Drury (sucks), Alford (sucks), and the backup C. I'm not a big fan of Montoyo, but outside of Teo, Bo, Biggio, Gurriel, and hopefully Vlad and the catchers soon, he's being asked to rotate replacement level trash through the lineup every day.
