    Did he forget that he had Vogelbach on the bench? There were two clear opportunities to use him in the 9th: 1.Panik's AB Panik lead of the inning, and can't hit. Vogelbach could have been brought in to get on base, then been lifted for Espinal if he was successful. 2.McGuire's AB Let Vogelbach hit for Reese instead of dropping a stupid sac bunt. If the game goes to the 12th, bring Jansen in to catch.

    I remember questions about velo popping up every March/April over the years. He always settled in as the summer went on. I wouldn't be that surprised if he's back to 97-98 by May of 2021. I'm guessing I'll look dumb in a year for trading him for Petit.

    I don't think he's low-upside. Relievers often take two years to make it all the way back from serious injury. Like that sack of s*** Trevor Rosenthal who did horrible, unspeakable things to my ratios last year.

    With Bauer wanting to go every 4th day and the team not giving a f*** about his arm, you probably get 3 Bauer starts and 2 Ryu starts in a 7-game series if you get there. That makes Toronto a dangerous opponent for anyone.

    I see the playoffs as being mostly a crapshoot. The biggest reason why you wouldn’t want to move prospects for immediate help before you’re ready is that a 162-game season does a pretty good job keeping bad or mediocre teams out of the playoffs entirely. That barrier is gone this year, and MLB is the NHL (hopefully only temporarily). If I’m Atkins and have basically been gifted a playoff spot, and have a chance to land a CY contender for Kloffenstein, I pull the trigger every time. Opportunities to roll the dice in the playoffs with two of the 10-15 best starters in the game and a talented, high-variance lineup don’t grow on trees.
