  1. Only Merryweather and Borucki from that group are out of options. The rest should be in AAA.
  2. FYI: this kind of post adds absolutely nothing to the conversation, and will probably end up getting you banned eventually. There are reasons for being unhappy with this trade (I guess?), and you're free to articulate them.

The Senators are giving up 4.6 goals per game so far this year. They're hilariously bad.
  4. I don't think they're married to it. They just don't have the horses. They'll always try to get Ryu into the 6th or 7th. Pearson is going to chew up innings if he pans out. The rest of the guys just aren't good enough to push to 180 or 200 innings. If they land Bauer and Robbie Ray starts to look like pre-2020 Robbie Ray then they'll get lots of mileage from the rotation. If those things don't happen, they have do make to with what they have, and given the current personnel that's probably a lot of <5 inning starts.
  5. Meh. His results in 2019 were just OK and Longenhagen didn't even have him in the Jays top-39 a few weeks ago. I think he might have been a bit overrated here because he took the time to chat with some of the forum guys and came off as likeable while doing it.
  6. Diaz and SRF were candidates to be removed from the 40-man. They don't have any value. Winckowski is the only piece you'd actually call a prospect, and he's organizational filler. This is basically a FA signing. The criticism of the trade is that you don't want to pay Matz 5M, not that you think they gave up too much.
  7. Hendricks would be fantastic and really round out the pitching staff.
  8. A healthy Jays rotation looks something like: Ryu Pearson Ray Matz Stripling/Roark It's not an ideal playoff group, but we've seen teams like Oakland and TB win with similar or worse starting groups. Everyone but Ryu goes twice through then turn it over to what actually looks like a decent bullpen. There's a lot of variance there with Pearson having huge upside and Matz/Ray/Stripling looking like average (or better) starters pretty recently.
  9. Diaz and SRF were candidates to be removed from the 40-man anyway, so this is basically Winckowski for Matz. I'm fine with it.
  10. Feels like a Dodgers move.
  11. Yup. Safe bet he was offered 15M per year on a 2 or 3-year deal. Just didn't want to be anywhere by NY.
  12. I hate that Schilling isn't in.
  13. Signing Miller, trading/punting McGuire, and keeping Kirk would be phenomenal. Extremely deep group of 13 bats that complement each other very nicely.
  14. C - Kirk 1B - Guerrero Jr. 2B - Semien 3B - Biggio SS - Bichette LF - Gurriel CF - Springer RF - Hernandez DH - Tellez C - Jansen OF - Grichuk INF - Espinal OF - Fisher It's crazy how few hitting spots are actually available going into ST with everyone healthy. Feels like a Dodgers situation. The only real question as things stand is with the catchers: does Kirk start with the team? If so, one of Jansen or McGuire need to be traded. Or maybe just cut in McGuire's case. I guess they could also look for a better bench infielder than Espinal, as he still has options remaining. It's not even really necessary that our bench infielder play SS, with both Semien and Bichette around.
  15. The team's projected 3B was Santiago Espinal before this.
  16. Yup. This org has one of the best and deepest pools of talent in the league. They're set up to win consistently like NYY or LAD, and not in a short window.
  17. Great signing. Probably won't displace Biggio/Bichette. Contract will be well worth it if he comes in and contributes 2-3 wins while playing every day at 3B.
  18. Agreed. I have no problem with it for Philly.
  19. Cesar Hernandez staying in Cleveland 1 year + team option.
  20. Luba is relentless. Poor Heyman

I'm starting to suspect that trading for a goalie at the nadir of your rebuild and immediately extending him long-term at 6.25M despite the fact that he had been terrible in two of the previous 3 seasons was not a sound plan.
  22. Scalding hot take: I liked the extra innings rule, and I liked that it started in the 10th.
  23. Would be cool if the owners approved universal DH because it makes for a better product, instead of pretending like it's a significant concession to the PA and trying to leverage it into concessions from the players. But this is MLB, so of course that's a fantasy.
  24. Trading Pettersson will prove to be most regrettable.
